This month our media arm took a human rights stance that was aligned with what International Human Rights organizations have been taking. As a result, both our founder and our organization OCP Inc. were punished for it. We were kicked off of panels, lost large client contracts, and our founder was doxxed and received threats –– and the truth is, if we had to do it over again, we would not change a thing about how we showed up. We refused to be scared into silence, or to check our humanity at the door to conduct business. Because speaking up against a system means you risk losing your job/reputation, so the only people who can do this with some safety are those who have family money or support, or a solid savings account.
