Mount Snow Resort Overview
The most accessible "big mountain" skiing in Vermont, Mount Snow is our go-to for NYC-area based weekend warriors. Located only 4 hours from New York city and less than 3 hours from Boston, there’s a reason so many skiers in the Northeast call this place home. With four different mountain faces, Mt Snow enables the entire family to explore unique terrain. Mount Snow has the most powerful snow-making system in the Northeast, enabling an earlier start to the season and more reliable conditions than neighboring resorts.
Carinthia Parks is a key feature at Mount Snow. This side of the mountain is devoted to skiers and riders seeking “air” with 10 terrain parks with more than 100 acres loaded with features. Carinthia Parks has become famous amongst east coast skiers for hosting several X Games and Dew Tours.
The nearby town of Wilmington, just 15 minutes away, has a vibrant, classic Vermont dining and après scene. Mount Snow is on the Epic Pass.

Insider Tips
Navigating around crowds: take some time to learn the layout of the mountain. If you do, it's easy to avoid lift lines; avoid the Bluebird Lift; it's not the be-all end-all. As capacity at the base builds up, head over to the North Face from the Canyon Lift, there are rarely lines here. Beware though, all the terrain is listed as advanced. It's also where you'll want to head on a powder day.
Aim to ski midweek to avoid the crowds; if you must ski on the weekend, go early, ideally 8-11am
If the snow is good, so are the glades. They are highly underrated.
Make your way over to the Sunbrook area for limited lift lines and winding Blues
Park at Carinthia Lodge to avoid the crowds at main mountain parking; return here for your mid-day break, it tends to be less crowded than the Main Base
