You won’t have heard of Dot.I - having an almost invisible presence on social media, Sound Designer, Record Label owner and singer/songwriter carries with him a rebel low-key punk persona in his exploration of trip-hop beats infused with strong jazz influences as he chops up, deconstructs and throws paint at the wall in sonic form with his reconstruction concept of jazz releases.

Using a minimal set up to reimagine sound, Dot.i embarked on the painstaking labour of searching for individual notes to then chop up, tweak, distort and render. Further layering with flipped vocal samples and loops using built in modules, filters and phases, Dot.i shows grit as he sets himself challenging parameters to direct his creativity despite being confronted with his own personal loss.

Asking his listeners to join him on a journey with no map, he also asks you to find yourself. Just like a seed needs darkness to grow, this project offers a complex break through the emotional despair and unrest with a strong sense of urgency that can only be described as ‘uneasy’ listening.

With strong 90’s trip-hop vibes ricocheting throughout this jazz deconstruction, this EP is nothing but dark and stormy stapled with the message to ride out these rough waters knowing the power of positivity and determination will be your saving grace.


About Dot.i

UK born Dot.i aka Martin Osman first came to the scene in 2007/8 when he hosted alongside Alexander Nut on Rinsefm gaining further credibility when signed to Berlin based label, Project Moon Circle. Dot.i has been releasing vinyl consistently ever since, working with the likes of Kwes Darko British, music composer/producer from London, England and various solo projects. Having a strong prominents in Czech Republic, Dot.i has also dabbled with the business side of club events management, vinyl swap meets and previously worked with Chakra Sound Records.
