Take 30 seconds to ask Premier Ford to restore the court-ordered moratorium on residential evictions

Housing is the first defence against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Congregate living spaces such as emergency shelters and long-term care homes are at high risk of outbreaks. We have already witnessed the tragic loss of many innocent lives.

With a severe shortage of affordable rental housing, an eviction may push these individuals into already crowded emergency shelters, informal and unsafe residences, or living in encampments during the cold winter months – creating situations with high risk of COVID-19 outbreaks.

Our campaign, Stop Unsafe Evictions, is urging the Ontario Government to immediately stop unsafe evictions by restoring the court-ordered moratorium on residential evictions that was put in place in March.
