Juana selected ‘Like Water for Chocolate (Como agua para chocolate)’ a novel by Laura Esquivel where food plays an important role in unraveling many of the character’s truths. The book is structured with recipes at the start of every chapter, setting the scene for food symbolism in all aspects of life-giving nourishment.
Juana and Zi unpack the themes present in this book and share their stories of nostalgic meals and how food represents love, as an important ingredient in ultimate nourishment.
