TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a driver who almost rammed into a Hillsborough County deputy’s car and led a chase into Pasco County.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began at about 10 a.m. when an HCSO deputy tried to pull over a Ford-250 that was believed to be connected to a burglary.

However, officials said the truck driver refused to stop and instead tried to ram the deputy’s patrol car, causing him to swerve off the road.

Deputies followed the driver north on I-75 to SR-56 into Pasco County, where the individual abandoned the truck and ran into the woods.

The HCSO Aviation and K9 units along with other agencies have set up a search perimeter to locate the truck driver..
