September Was a Busy Month For Us!

At Gaupa Labs, we work tirelessly towards the launch of the Proof of Sustainability Network.

Creating a service for companies and consumers means we have to ensure we are fully compliant with regulators, protecting the consumer and, last but not least, staying transparent.

In addition, surrounding ourselves with the right people and entities is crucial.

So let's dig into what we've been up to in the last month!

Binance Blockchain Week

Our Co-Founder and CEO, Joaquim, headed to the Binance Blockchain Week Paris.

The event was packed with brilliant speakers, starting with CZ the Founder and CEO of Binance.

In addition, the sports industry was showcased by famous athletes, including Maria Sharapova and Tony Parker talking about the benefits of Web 3 and NFTs.

We also had the CEO of Ubisoft covering the gaming world, Daniel Tamas from WAM (Elrond users will recognise the name) and Sebastien Borget from The Sandbox.

Lastly, politicians joined the fire chats to talk about regulations, innovations and how some laws might impede in making Europe a competitive crypto hub.

The highlight of the two days in the capital of France was for us a long and passionate chat with the CEO of Moonlorian!

Being able to discuss with other builders on the Elrond Ecosystem is always a thrill, and Moonlorian excels in that field.

We look forward to seeing the Elrond space grow and attract more and more builders.

Innovation Week OPP Norway

Through our incubator, Kunnskapsparken Vestlandet, we were invited to pitch Gaupa Labs during Kapitaldagen, one of the most anticipated events of the Innovation Week.

VCs, startups, angel investors and advisors all gathered at Larris Scene in Førde for a day of talks and presentations.

We were one of the first to present, following Norse Feedback, a startup about health tracking to improve doctors' diagnoses.

After our presentation, we chatted with potential investors, VCs and accelerators, including StartupLab Bergen which assisted and invested in familiar companies such as reMarkable, HOLD and Dune Analytics.

Gaupa Labs joins TheFactory

TheFactory reached out to invite us to their accelerator program, GründerAcademy.

Launched in 2016, TheFactory has grown to become the largest Nordic Accelerator.

In addition to their expertise, they've invested in Norwegian Crypto Exchange Firi, which increased our confidence that they were the right fit!

We're therefore glad to announce we are now part of the program which will accelerate our progress while receiving support from Mentors and collaborating with other startups.

Lastly, the access to the Global Accelerator Network (GAN.co) a platform that gives resources and opportunities to startups from all over the world is a great benefit we look forward to benefiting from!

Regulatory Certainty

As mentioned in the introduction, regulations in such a novel space as web 3 is a challenge many companies are facing. Some countries have been known for their lack of laws, making them attractive until they no longer are due to the implementation of new laws. Some of those countries are also known for lack of transparency and support, if not promote, tax evasion.

With the core values of Gaupa Labs being about transparency, we couldn't play by those rules.

After endless hours of research, talking to lawyers and consulting firms from all over Europe, we decided to settle for France.

While some French politicians have been quite outspoken in increasing regulation and against the core values of Web 3, the AMF (French Financial Market Authority) has set clear rules on how tokens should be sold, managed etc...

The AMF is therefore open for innovation in the Fintech space and shows, through their ruling, an understanding of utility tokens, just like the GAUPA Token.

We are therefore working actively with local lawyers to ensure all sales of tokens in the future are fully compliant, and that you, as investors know there is a transparent company behind it.

The French Registered Company will therefore be managed by the holders and participating businesses to ensure a democratic ruling over the future of the Gaupa Network.

Bureaucracy is always a slow process, but with such a long-term vision as ours, there are no shortcuts to be taken. We are part of a new movement where traditional companies can be run with the web 3 values.

Hiring

Through different funding and grants, we've been able to hire a Graphic Designer. We'll introduce him soon!

We are also looking to hire Software Developers to speed up the release of our tools. If you are interested in joining us, please send us an email!

New Website

As you're probably aware, we launched a new website in September. The reasoning behind it was to make it easier for users, businesses and consumers to understand our vision, what we offer and how we're doing it!

The new website hasn't reached its final form as you can expect to see updates to the welcome page, the appearance of the product page and last but not least, the token page.

With our new Designer, we will create new assets to illustrate Gaupa Labs and the Proof of Sustainability Network.

Conclusion

September has been an incredible month! We've made progress in many fields and are excited to share with you what is coming up next.

We also want to thank you, our community and our supporters for joining us in this incredible adventure.

Together, we'll reduce greenwashing, and promote sustainability while getting rewarded for it!
