A NEW School Year Begins on Monday!
We are excited to see each of you this Monday, August 15th! Entering a new school year, our faculty and staff remain devoted to our mission as π’˜π’† π‘ͺ𝑢𝑴𝑴𝑰𝑻 𝒕𝒐 π’‘π’“π’π’—π’Šπ’…π’† 𝒂 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆, π’‡π’‚π’Žπ’Šπ’π’š π’†π’π’—π’Šπ’“π’π’π’Žπ’†π’π’•, and 𝒕𝒐 𝑰𝑡𝑺𝑷𝑰𝑹𝑬 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝑬𝑨𝑫 π’‚π’„π’‚π’…π’†π’Žπ’Šπ’„π’‚π’π’π’š, π’‚π’•π’‰π’π’†π’•π’Šπ’„π’‚π’π’π’š, and π’”π’‘π’Šπ’“π’Šπ’•π’–π’‚π’π’π’š.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Back-to-School Orientation; we had an AMAZING turnout! It was wonderful seeing students and families back on campus! Below are a few back-to-school reminders and essential information to help us start the school year strong!

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out by emailing office@gladesdayschool.com.
A few things to keep in mind...
  • Uniforms: We are understanding that uniforms from all suppliers are back-ordered, and there are many unfulfilled orders. With this in mind, we are providing students with a grace period on uniform requirements. Until students receive their uniform orders, they may wear a collared shirt and khaki bottoms. We will continue to monitor uniform orders, and once we have been notified that orders have been fulfilled, we will begin implementing the dress code outlined in the Student Handbook.

  • Textbooks: As explained on the textbook lists, consumable textbooks are purchased by Glades Day School and will be distributed to students during the first week. The student must purchase all other textbooks independently. Many parents have found great deals on books from Amazon. We understand that students may not have their textbooks at the start of school; however, we highly encourage you to place your textbook orders as soon as possible. All students are required to have their textbooks in class by Monday, August 29th.

  • Click here to view the Upper School Textbook List.

  • Chromebooks: Chromebooks and Chromebook Contracts will be distributed beginning Monday to all students in 6th-12th grade. Students will receive their Chromebooks during their English classes. All parents/guardians and students will be required to sign a Chromebook Contract. The form must be returned no later than Friday, August 19th, to the student's English teacher.

  • Upper School Schedule Change Requests: A lot of time and consideration went into course scheduling for students. In the event your 6th-12th grade student would like to submit a schedule change request, a "Schedule Change Request" form will be available through students' English teachers beginning Monday, August 15th. Forms must be completed and signed by a parent to be considered. All forms must be returned to the student's English teacher. All schedule change requests must be submitted no later than Monday, August 22nd.

  • Academic Advisors will work to address the requests as soon as possible.
  • Schedule changes will only be considered for the following reasons:
  • Missing a required course
  • Registered for a course they've already taken
  • Placement to a higher course level (AP, DE, Regular)
  • Schedule requests for "teacher changes", "time of day changes", or to be in the same class as a friend, etc., will not be honored.

Thank you for your patience as our Academic Team works diligently
to complete requests.

  • Student ID Badges: All 6th through 12th-grade students will be issued a school identification card and lanyard. Photos for identification cards will be taken on Tuesday, August 23rd. Once the ID badges arrive and are distributed, students will be required to wear their identification cards daily while on campus. This is a safety protocol, and we really appreciate your help supporting us in this requirement. Students will also be required to wear their student ID badge to all athletic events to receive free admission. If the student identification card and/or lanyard are lost, a replacement will be issued, and the student’s account will be charged the replacement fee.

  • Student Physicals and Immunizations: Florida law requires that all children receive vaccines protecting against diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and other diseases for a child care center or school attendance.
  • Prior to entering the 7th grade, all students must provide a Florida Certificate of Immunization (DH 680) stating that their immunizations are complete for 7th-grade entry. Please note that in addition to compliance with all other required immunizations, children entering the 7th grade in Florida schools must have received one dose of the tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (TDAP) vaccine.

  • Your student may need additional immunizations, and/or you may just need to turn in the updated DH 680 form.

  • You may request the form from your child’s physician’s office or get your child’s DH 680 form online via Florida SHOTS at:

  • Only original 680 DH forms are accepted; please do not turn in copies. The form must have the signature of the responsible healthcare provider, either by hand or by means of an electronic signature verification ID from Florida SHOTS.

  • Please review the form prior to submitting it to the Main Office because forms with errors will not meet state requirements.

Students who do not have the required immunization forms
on file WILL NOT BE PERMITTED to attend school until the
proper records have been submitted to the Main Office.

  • Lunches: Glades Day School contracts Gator Chomp Cafe to serve lunches and snacks in the cafeteria during school hours. Students may purchase lunch or bring food from home. The cafeteria provides microwaves for students to warm food, not to cook it. Neither parents nor students are permitted to contact an outside food service for the purpose of arranging for food delivery to campus. Parents/guardians delivering a packed lunch to their students must report directly to the Main Office. Lunch must be delivered at least 30-minutes prior to the student’s lunchtime, as outlined below.
