The Summer Camp Scholarship Program Provider for summer 2024 is now open for applications until January 5, 2024. The Summer Camp Scholarship Program provides full tuition and fees for summer camp for children residing in families with income at or below 185% of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Fees are paid directly to the camps who enroll the children with scholarships. The scholarship program is funded by the Board of County Commissioners and the Children’s Services Council. Providers can submit an application to the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department to join the approved list of summer camp providers for summer 2024.

Providers can choose from the four different sub-types of summer camps listed below:

  1. Educational Enrichment Camps, which require 50% or more of academic enrichment programming offered daily, must hire a certified teacher on staff and must administer pre and post-tests to track academic progress.
  2. Specialty camps that focus on sports, dance, technology, art, and/or wellness.
  3. Special Needs camps provide support to campers on the Autism Spectrum and/or other related disabilities.
  4. Regular camps that are all other camps not specifically outlined above.

A provider information meeting was held on Thursday, November 16, 2023. The recorded meeting is posted on the Youth Services Department website at: Youth Services Provider Resources (pbcgov.org)
