The Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) invites you to the upcoming Countywide Community Revitalization Team (CCRT) meeting on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10 a.m. This event will be hosted in person at the Vista Center Hearing Room 1E-60, 2300 N Jog Rd., West Palm Beach, and can be accessed virtually or via conference call if needed.

This month's guest speaker Stephanie David, YouthBuild Program Manager with Palm Beach County Housing Authority (PBCHA), will be in attendance to talk about their PBCHA YouthBuild Program.

YouthBuild (YB) is a U.S. Department of Labor-funded non-residential, community-based alternative education program that provides job training and educational opportunities for at-risk youth ages 16-24. Particiapnts learn construction skills while constructing or rehabilitating affordable housing for low-income or homeless families in their neighborhoods.

The YouthBuild program consists of five (5) components: Leadership, Education, Case Management, Construction Training and Career Development. Participating Youth split their time between the construction site and the classroom, where they earn their GED or high school diploma, learn to be community leaders, and prepare for college and other post-secondary training opportunities. YouthBuild includes significant support systems, such as mentoring, follow-up education, employment, personal counseling services, and participation in community services and civic engagement.
