United Way of Palm Beach County Hosts Tax-a-Thon to Provide Free Tax Filing

Who: United Way of Palm Beach County's Taxes Filed Free Campaign, which includes the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program and MyFreeTaxes.

What: A team of IRS-certified volunteers will be on-site at Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth Campus, to provide free, fast, and secure tax preparation assistance for individuals and families whose household income was $75,000 or less in 2023. VITA volunteers help taxpayers who are eligible for tax credits, such as Child Tax Credits (CTC) and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), possibly qualifying for up to $7,430.

Where: Palm Beach State College, Lake Worth Campus, 4200 S. Congress Ave, Lake Worth, FL 33461. (Filing will take place in the cafeteria, near the administration building).

When: Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

​Visuals will include volunteers assisting with tax preparation. *The best time for visuals will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A United Way representative will be on-site and available for interviews.

Why: To provide free and secure tax preparation for low to moderate-income households in Palm Beach County to prepare and file their 2023 income tax returns.
