Glades Technical Advisory Committee To Hold Public Meeting March 6

The Office of Community Revitalization (OCR) invites you to the upcoming Glades Technical Advisory Committee (GTAC) meeting on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. This event will be hosted in person at the City of Belle Glade Library/Civic Center, 725  NW 4th, Belle Glade, and can be accessed virtually or via conference call if needed.

This month's featured speakers include Lawanda McFadden, Homeless Outreach Social Worker and Minority Veterans Program Coordinator, and Homeless Outreach Social Worker Cynthia Cunningham Massiah, both from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. They will be providing valuable information to Glades residents about critical services available at the VA, including healthcare benefits for underrepresented veterans and navigating the enrollment process, along with essential information addressing homeless outreach. Additionally, they will discuss two key programs offered at the VA: the PACT ACT and Toxic Exposure Screening. Michelle Macea, retired USMC Veterans Service Officer with the PBC Division of Senior & Veterans Services, will provide additional information.

Furthermore, Dr. Violet Howard, Authorized Provider from the Federal Communications Commission, will attend to share information about the Affordable Connectivity Program. This is federal initiative addresses the digital divide by providing essential support for phone and internet services to families and households facing financial challenges.
