Fridays For Future Sacramento is a youth led climate group based in Sacramento, CA, a local branch of the international Fridays For Future movement. FFF Sacramento realizes that as young people, we will live to see the most dire consequences of the climate crisis, which is why we must be the ones at the forefront of the fight for justice. We acknowledge that individual actions alone will not solve the climate crisis, which is why we’re fighting for systemic solutions to the climate crisis. The primary way in which we fight for justice is by organizing strikes in accordance with the FFF movement. However, though striking is one of our primary tactics, it is not our only one. In the past we’ve participated in open mic nights, webinars, and local climate emergency declaration campaigns.

Because FFF Sacramento is a youth led movement, in order to be eligible for membership one must be under the age of 26. As youth, we will live to see the worst effects of the climate crisis, which is why we must be at the forefront of the fight for climate justice. We acknowledge that we have much to learn from our adult allies, but we ask that they work as mentors/supporters rather than core organizers.
