Mobile Devices Needed for Virtual Learning Jamaica

The Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is not only a national pandemic but as we all know, it's a global one. The Coronavirus has been catastrophic to Jamaican citizens that are struggling with resources to support their families. The virus isn't the only challenge for families, but schools and access to technology are also obstacles. As e-learning becomes more widespread throughout Jamaica, the question of connectivity has been a valid concern. With some schools already opened and other schools opening this week, families are seeking assistance now. Not every student has internet access, and families struggle with the financial means to purchase mobile devices and wifi-plans so their children can participate in virtual learning.

Madonna, aka Diva Madonna, has made it her mission to reach as many children as she can who are in need. To date, Madonna has raised and personally donated over $10,000, with the help of the GoFundMe community and one of her partners, Simone Gordon, (@BlackFairyGodMother), to assist families. Together, they have sent children back to school with new clothing, books, and digital devices to prepare them for success during these difficult times.

Aunty Diva's Mentoring Program's mission is to help families in Jamaica struggling with basic needs such as housing, help with children, and financial resources. Madonna's new fundraiser provides support to families by securing tablets and wifi so each child can actively participate in virtual learning. The goal is to raise $5000.00.
