Reluctantly joining the litany of Black trans femmes crowdsourcing in hopes of financing transition-related healthcare & medical expenses.
My name’s Muteba Tshinabu wa Munda and I’ve been medically transitioning for over the past 7months under the uninsured supervision of a private endocrinologist.
That means everything from routine bloodwork, check-ups, monthly prescriptions, invasive & non-invasive medical treatments such as laser & electrolysis are all paid for from out of empty pockets & through payment plans.
I’m deeply grateful to have made it this far receiving adequate treatment, however COVID-19 has definitely made accessing gender affirming healthcare all the more challenging
Like most poor working class Black trans femmes isolated from meaningful access to resources, I can hardly guarantee from where my next meal will come let alone how I’ll pay my medical bills.
So while I hardly expect to crowdsource the set goal or even a fraction of accrued fees, all resources generated above my immediate expenses will be redistributed to other black trans girls in need. Thanks in advance ✨
