ABOUT ONE / OFF Mission: ONE / OFF exists to liberate the Black imagination through digital art and technology so that the distinctiveness of Black creative expression is embraced and valued for its transformative cultural contributions. Our vision is to empower the global Black community to imagine their culture and ideas in the future supported by technology that enables them to retain ownership and creative control of their own culture. Developing a Black Arts + Culture Ecosystem on the Blockchain: • Providing resources and digital exhibition space for artists through our Black Art District initiative • Cultivating a new generation of art enthusiasts that see the value in adding Crypto Art to their collections • Partnering with Black curators and archivists to showcase the contribution of Black artists to the Crypto Art Movement and preserve their legacy for future generations Developing Market Analysis for the Black Arts Economy on the Blockchain: • Created a database of transactions for Black Artists in the space to gain insights into trends and opportunities to capture value in this niche market • Leveraging insights from the database to build the largest collection of Black Crypto Art on the Blockchain • Advising artists on strategies to grow and sustain the value of their market
INTRODUCTION INTR:mssn (Intermission)—exploring the states of transience—the middle ground from that which we use to self-reflect and analyze our thoughts, behaviors, actions by looking upon oneself. Similar to the break periods of Opera or Stage Play, those key periods allow us to download, digest, and assimilate the lived experience to prepare ourselves for the next experience. In this, we can forge new pathways, and it is within that bead, my work is applied.
ABOUT AMEER “SIRSU” CARTER Ameer “Sirsu” Suhayb Carter is a multi-disciplinary designer that has been instrumental in large, international, multimedia ad campaigns, startup, and Fortune 100 app launches, groundbreaking social innovation design, experimental fashion, and exhibition art. He’s passionate about policy, visual journalism, social design, volunteering and entrepreneurship. Currently an active design advisor for the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and on the advisory board for 4 startups—2 of which spawned from programs within the Nashville EC. Outside of design work, he is an experimental crypto artist building speculative fiction and art in decentralized platforms. He received his BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Service Design & Innovation, double minoring in Entrepreneurship and Anthropology. He’s lectured at Jefferson University, Vanderbilt University and Chicago Design Museum.
