Domaine des Lambrays Morey Saint Denis 2022
Red | JM 90-91
From En La Rue de Vergy and Larrey. Mid crimson. A somewhat sombre nose albeit with the slightly savoury character of Morey. This cuvée is always entirely destemmed. On the palate the red fruit has a little extra freshness though still with the savoury character. A pure, fine and long finish.

1er Cru Les Folatieres 2022
White | JM 90-93
Mid yellow. Fresh plum, floral, medium bodied, a little warmth, this is fattening out with a good background of oak. Firm but with an intensity of ripe fruit, just a little warmth to finish.

1er Cru Clos du Cailleret 2022
White | JM 92-95
Clear pale colour. This shows the stones and less the warmth. Broadly based white fruit, sensual, a little toast from the barrel, low to medium acidity, while all the qualities of the vineyard have been harnessed.

Domaine des Lambrays Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Les Loups 2022
Red | JM 93-96
Glowing purple. A beautifully lifted bouquet with 40% whole bunches, alpine strawberries, all in finesse. Then the wine builds to an extra level of intensity, more than expected from the elegance of the nose, The fruit shows additional nuances as well, entirely red fruit, some ripe cherries now showing as well.

Domaine des Lambrays Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Clos Baulet 2022
Red | JM 91-94
A new appellation, coming from the Domaine Cosson vineyards which now form part of the Lambrays stable. The plot forms the top section, just below the Lambrays buildings, on brown clay soil. 40% whole bunch vinification. A cherry to ruby colour. Fresh cherry with white pepper on the nose, the Clos Baulet comes across as a little more slender than Les Loups. 40 hl/ha, very juicy, the stems just give that final tingle, to a very attractive and juicy red fruit. Lovely aftertaste.

Domaine des Lambrays Morey Saint Denis
1er Cru Clos Sorbe 2022
Red | JM 92-95
A slightly fuller ruby colour, with more red fruit and less white pepper, in comparison with Baulet. Strawberry and raspberry, suave, svelte, a little touch of velvet while retaining the slight savoury touch of Morey. Interesting to make such different wines from neighbouring plots.

Domaine des Lambrays Vosne Romanee
1er Cru Les Beaux Monts 2022
Red | JM 91-94
One of two new vineyards purchased from the Thomas family. 50% whole bunch vinification. Glowing purple. An attractive mid purple. Some energy to the nose though the whole bunches are pretty prominent. It is a light and refined style. Interesting, complex, fresh red fruit, plus a chocolate note, then white pepper. Fine length, not quite sure what to make of this.

Domaine des Lambrays Nuits Saint Georges
1er Cru La Richemone 2022
Red | JM 95-98
One third of the vines date back to 1924. Not especially deep in colour, just a mite darker than the Beaux Monts, but thrilling on the nose. Here the whole bunch spice is just an additional factor, and does not take over. Raspberry and cherry, very little strawberry, spice behind, but a complete and complex whole. Velvet in texture, with a fine tensile strength, and gloriously persistent.

Domaine des Lambrays Clos des Lambrays
Grand Cru 2022
Red | JM 96-98
The 2022 Clos des Lambrays contains 80% whole bunches (100% in the very old vines, a lower proportion elsewhere). A fine even deep ruby purple. The bouquet is backward with still a suggested intensity of fruit that can easily cope with the stems. Beautifully suave with an enveloping dark red fruit, a very graceful finish on silky, refined tannins, and we don’t often say silky for Morey St Denis. They are caressing, according to Jacques. The floral touch works throughout, beautifully long and sensual.
