DOMAINE ROLAND LAVANTUREUX

Burgundy En-Primeur 2022

Roland Lavantureux founded the domaine in 1978 in the town of Lignorelles, about four miles northwest of Chablis. Since joining the family operation, sons Arnaud and David have increased the family holdings to twenty-one hectares.

The 2022 harvest began on 1st September, picking in the mornings only through to 17th September. Despite the full crop, 2022 provided concentrated wines, ample and ripe. Arnaud also took the decision to block the malolactic fermentation, as he did in 2018 and 2020. In the cellar, they are moving from 228 to 350 litre barrels.

Jasper Morris verdict on the 2022 Lavantureux vintage ‘Wonderful wines once again.’

David Lavantureux believes that "2022 vintage should please everybody, from novice to connoisseurs alike. It’s consensual and approachable, a bit like 2019 was, richer than 2021 with ripe fruits."

VILLAGE

DOMAINE ROLAND LAVANTUREUX
Chablis 2022

White | JM 89

The vines for this cuvee have an average age of thirty years. 70% of wine aged in stainless steel, 30% aged in 3 to 6 year old barrels.

This is altogether more backward with a more phenolic nose (that’s a positive for me). Good weight of fruit with a little tension behind and a fine persistent finish. Indeed impressive length. Drink from 2025-2027. Tasted: July 2023.
