LOOKING BACK ON AN INCREDIBLE YEAR!
Every year as the winter cold begins to settle in, Adam and I like to take some time to reflect on REVERB and just how far this organization has come. From an idea we hatched nearly 20 years ago, to an organization creating positive change on tours around the world in 2022, REVERB has become something far beyond what we could have ever dreamed.

As our 19th touring season draws to a close, we are acutely aware that the REVERB community has built something truly meaningful. With our partners, our team, thousands of dedicated volunteers, and tens of thousands of fans, we have taken hundreds of thousands of actions for people and the planet at shows. We’re particularly proud to note this impact expanded globally in 2022 as we partnered on world tours with Billie Eilish, The Lumineers, Jack Johnson, Tame Impala, and Lorde.
Across all of our efforts this year, REVERB raised over $2 MILLION in community support – funds that go directly to climate projects that measurably reduce greenhouse gas emissions and nonprofit organizations that address environmental and social issues.

REVERB’s Music Climate Revolution campaign continued to see strong support from the entire music community. Together with artist partners, industry leaders, and fans, we have been able to support 11 climate projects which will reduce over 45,000 tonnes of CO2e. That's equivalent to taking more than 8,700 homes off the grid for a year!

We’re also excited to announce that we are spearheading a new effort to decarbonize music, exploring and developing solutions to the unique climate challenges of the music industry. More on this to come!

While we celebrate the REVERB community’s accomplishments we also must acknowledge that in 2022 we saw the increasingly serious effects of a warming planet – a stark reminder that we must act with urgency, resolve, and hope in order to take on the threats of the climate crisis.

Yet in the face of these existential challenges, and with the knowledge that there is so much more work to do, we here at REVERB share a sense of cautious optimism. We have seen a real shift in attitudes and practices on tours and throughout the music industry. Young artists like Billie Eilish are pushing for change and upending long-standing industry norms looking for ways to reduce the environmental footprint of music. At the same time, artists that have been sustainable touring leaders, like Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson and Dead & Company, continue to look for new ways to take environmental action and cut down waste on tour. Venues, festivals, radio stations, studios - nearly every single part of the vast music industry - are all taking a hard look at their footprints and coming together to find solutions.

We’re incredibly proud of the role REVERB, our partners, volunteers and supporters have played in creating this shift. It’s real and it’s happening!

Thank you all for helping REVERB become what it is today, and for all you do to care for and protect people and the planet. We hope your holidays are filled with joy, love, and lots of great music.

Happy Holidays,

Lauren & Adam
