Event Details

As our 2023/24 Artist Alliance Biennial exhibition comes to a close we are bringing together Artist Alliance Co-Chair Emeritus and photographer Larry Vogel, Artist Alliance Biennial Exhibition Grand Prize award winner, painter, and former Disney animator Marshall Toomey, and Professor of Art at Mira Costa College and installation artist, Xuchi Naungayan Eggleton to discuss how the world is changing for artists. Moderated by OMA’s Director of Exhibitions and Collections Katie Dolgov, this conversation invites community leaders to engage with the audience and think about what a career as an artist might look like, how one defines success, and how new tools are shaping what we understand art to be.
Off The Wall is a conversation series that brings community leaders together with artists and curators to discuss current affairs which impact the health and well being of our region now and in the future. Artists often exist at the forefront of societal change, reflecting the mood of the current moment and trends, innovating towards change, and bringing challenging concepts to light. In this series, we look at the role the museum has in bringing art and community together to be champions of culture. Part moderated conversation, part audience participation, we take the art off the walls and into our everyday lives.
$15 Visitors, $10 Members, $5 Artist Alliance / Students
