Broadcast – “Follow the Light”

More than 13 years since Trish Keenan left this Earth much, much too soon, her spirit continues to guide us. We’ve been fortunate enough to be able to discover what the Broadcast frontwoman left behind in her art in a series of archival releases rich with live sessions, alternate recordings, and unearthed demoes set free into this world in recent years. “Follow the Light”, the first offering from one of two new collections on the way this May — Spell Blanket, featuring demoes recorded between 2006 and 2009 that were intended to be a part of Keenan and James Cargill’s follow-up to Tender Buttons — is a new found higher plane even in its barest elements. You’ll feel something supernatural among yourself in its experience as Keenan’s meditates on its title mantra and an iridescent specter of synths dance through gravity, creating a transcendental doorway beyond thee current physical. She may be gone from the here and now, but let this be your proof that she’s on the other side.

Broadcast’s Spell Blanket – Collected Demoes 2006 – 2009 will be released May 3rd on Warp Records.
