Dear President Biden,
I’m writing to you today in hopes that you will aid in stopping the construction of the dangerous Line 3 Pipeline proposed by Enbridge in Minnesota. The pipeline violates indigenous rights of the groups living in the area, and has the potential (as all oil pipelines do) to spill, contaminate the groundwater of these areas, and as the Stop Line 3 Coalition has pointed out, would “carry the pollution equivalent to 50 coal power plants.”
You, as newly inaugurated President, have the power to review the permits granted by former President Trump and halt construction on this environmental disaster ASAP. As a member of the Water Insecurity Correction Coalition, stopping this pipeline’s construction means a lot to me, and I hope you share my grave concern.
