Project Description

My project, All Good Things, is a short film I made for my senior thesis. The film revolves around a brother and sister forced to confront their failing relationship after their car breaks down during a road trip.

What Form will your Final Project Take?

Produced a short film to be potentially submitted to festivals.

Who was supporting you in your work?

Professor James Kienitz-Wilkins, Assistant Professor of Screen Studies. Professor Kienitz-Wilkins oversaw my Senior Seminar class and provided general feedback from pre-production all the way through to the post-production process. His insights were helpful in combatting issues that came up in regard to production as well as conversing ideas.

Project Themes:

Creative

How has this project has been impactful or transformative?

Close to when I was about to begin filming my project some of my core crew had to drop out. Initially, this was a stressful experience however I quickly started recruiting new crew and adjusting my shooting plan in order to resolve and overcome this issue. This experience taught me how to manage a project and resolve issues in an effective manner when they arise.

What would you do differently?

I would have begun my planning earlier so that I could film earlier on in the semester. I would advise other students to begin their pre-production process as soon as possible so that when issues arise with their project they can resolve it sooner rather than later.

Short summary of your experience:

The senior capstone project was a great experience that allowed me to utilize my accumulated knowledge throughout my studies to create a short film.
