Album review: I Hope This Brings You Peace by July Drama

Album art: I Hope This Brings You Peace

on April 14th 2023, July Drama dropped his third project “I hope this brings you peace”.

10 songs that draw you into your zen.

dreams intro, the intro of the album sets the tone right with soothing sounds and seemingly heartwarming conversations before delving into the next track dreams comes through featuring Shayo Davids who lays him up to buttress how his dreams with his mystery lover came true.

the third track, anything 4u as the title implies, sounds a bell on how he’d do anything for his unknown lover. it passes as a love song to stand in your playlists when things get rough.

kaeko’s interlude sees another guest kaeko take control and with euphonic vocals makes questioning her lover feel so good on first listen, you’d have to tell her “who she is to you” but not on this interlude.

we see Kaeko with another assist for July on the next track face me, I face you. it sheds more light on the just concluded interlude.

the sixth track, killing it featuring Ona Dema is a bop for lovers in search of reassurance right before we take a listen to the next track, loveisnotreditsblue which contains a conversation between two people about what love signifies with the colours blue and red.

the next track, action, brings a very unconventional soothing tune from the drum logs to the voice swinging over it is yet another mystery unravelled in July Drama’s music

the penultimate track, no letting guh teed up by Ronehi and Tim Lyre just hit the mark lyrically telling us about a substance he never thought he’d try but now he’s not letting go.

finally, maryjane featuring unovoxgod and demi vee is a soundgasm! an outro leaving on the high side, crowning a very comprehensive project with an unconventional approach to delivery. the originality is top tier and the album is a must listen.
