The Wavys are an intentionally inclusive awards show. Our collective mission is to highlight historically excluded talent like women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, GNC, and artists who identify as having disabilities. The pool of talented nominees comes from Season 1 and 2 of Blonde Music News. The team includes Rebecca Autumn Sansom (Blonde Records), Krystal McRae (Scenes from the Underground), Eva Wagner (Northerly NYC), Gabby Love, M the Myth (Recording Artist), Grim Kells (Grimalkin Records), Clare Jaymes (Clarity Events), Kristyn Potter (Left Bank Magazine), Kelly Young, Rachel Sieff, Bentley Robles (Recording Artist). This is the inaugural ceremony and we hope to turn The Wavys into a nonprofit and further spoil marginalized artists throughout the year. We're proud to have RAMP'D (Recording Artists and Music Professional with Disabilities) and MIC (Music Inclusion Coalition) as partners. We couldn't have done it without the generous support of The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and are forever grateful to Anne del Castillo and her team for all of their help in ensuring this program is as accessible to everyone as possible.
