My intention was not to write a book full of sad stories because I would be telling my story through tinted lenses. Remember this: when we recount a story, whether personal or public, we must be certain that we maintain proper insight about the situation. Often, we must take time to sort through moments of exhilaration and brokenness; prevail over scattered emotions and celebrate victories, and tie up loose ends of disappointments in order to articulate the story through healed lenses. It's necessary as we walk in destiny to deal with rejection issues that violently pull at our trust and truth in forming new relationships. It can be challenging to adopt the proper perspective of seeing God in your triumphs and turmoil, and if we do so correctly, we will embrace the truth of my favorite scripture that "all things work together for your good if you love God and are the called according to his purpose." That revelation may not happen immediately, but eventually, you will be the victor: prepared, healed, and whole enough to live on the other side of your tragedies and one day tell your story. If you're eager to see the beauty in your current broken areas, your journey may require that you abandon everything you thought you knew about surviving and dare you to become a risk-taker: one who is flexible, resilient, and uncomfortable with living a mediocre, fragmented life.

I think is going to be my favorite in this series. I love Tessa and Liam. Liam is so amazing and sweet. He is kind and patient with Tessa, knowing that she needs slow, calm, and steady. Tessa is so strong to get away from her past and try to make a better future for herself. I think I have read this book like 3 or 4 times already and I love it more each time.
Tessa is in hiding from a past so volatile that if she is found, she would most definitely not make it through to see another day. She runs to Sutter Lake which has always had a special place in her heart even though she knew nothing about the connection to the small town and a part of her past. She kept her head down and kept to herself as much as possible. That is until Liam comes crashing into her life literally. There is just something about him that drew her eyes to him. He didn’t scare her; he made her feel safe.
Liam lived in Los Angeles. His face was known to almost everyone and was constantly dogged by the paparazzi as well as some overzealous fans. He was never given and sense of privacy. Liam knows there are 2 sides of fame, the high he gets when he performs, when he made music, and the dark side. When that dark side catches up to him, as well as his label pressuring him to write, he needs to escape. His friend Taylor now lived in Sutter Lake, and he had loved the peace and quiet there when he visited her. So that’s where he headed. The music started to come to him thanks to a lovely baker worker named Tessa. He knows he must be careful with her. That something had happened to make her so afraid. He was determined to do whatever it took so she would trust him. He protects her at all costs, but when his past and her past collide can he save both himself and Tessa?

It was an interesting book, a romance with some suspense. The plotline followed the pattern of book 1: heroine with a problem (here the hero had a problem too), he slowly breaks down her walls, he tries to protect her, the attacker finds a hole, kidnaps victim, heroine fights, gets rescued, long epilogue.

There were some loose ends: how did the PI track her down? How did the stalker find Liam?
I would also like to know whether victims (here our heroine) get some compensation from their abuser. Even if he is dead he was well off. Before, she had little money and no health insurance, now she can afford daily/weekly therapy.

I really liked that the heroine was clever. She realized she was abused and planned a successful escape taking all the help offered.

I loved this book. It was everything that I wanted and more for tessa and liam. I loved how he was respectful of what had happened to her and didn't push her. I love how Tessa didn't just become so fruitful when she started to feel things for Liam and that she was still a bit scared to trust him which is different from other books that I have read as they tend to just go straight to relationship and sex as soon as they start to have feelings for one another.
I loved even when Liam and Tessa agreed to go into a relationship that I wasn't rushed. That he was still respectful and didn't push her to quickly.
I loved this book would highly recommend.

Awww! This second novel in the Sutter Lake Series was so beautiful and sweet mixed with the right dose of suspense. Beautifully Broken Life is an inspiring, small town romance where two lost souls meet find solace in each other. They learn to trust and not be afraid of opening up to others and love!

Tessa and Liam gave my heart palpitations with the adorable slow burn of their romance. They have an instant connection, but Tessa’s hard past in an abusive relationship makes her skittish of everyone, mostly men. Liam isn’t deterred in his courtship of the young woman and shows her how dreamy he can be. Seriously, this star musician on the hiding, is so much more than the public personality. He’s a country boy at heart, so protective and respectful of Tessa. They’re just so lovely together and filled my stomach with butterflies with their gorgeous love story.

I enjoyed seeing a little bit of all the characters that were present in the previous Beautifully Broken Pieces. The Cole family is so amazing and welcoming. There’s never a dull moment at these family reunions. With the threats of her Tessa’s past gradually resurfacing, the intrigue took flight and captured my whole attention.

I’m totally charmed by this universe and all the happy feelings it delivers! I was delighted by this read and can't wait to start the next book in the Sutter Lake Series. I'm really intrigued about Jensen and Tuck's dynamic, so needless to say I need to read Beautifully Broken Spirit asap!
