Born Free USA led a training program for customs officers in Benin to help implement provisions of the CITES Convention. This training is part of Born Free USA’s work in Africa to combat wildlife trafficking by equipping law enforcement officials with the knowledge, training, and resources needed to identify trafficking animals and their parts and properly respond to and report such incidents. The officers were also supplied with Born Free USA t-shirts bearing the slogan “Don’t Let Pangolins Roll Away Forever.” As actors on the front-lines on the fight to end wildlife crime, these officers play an important role in stopping the decimation of imperiled species.
