What inspired this song?

Love Is a Game is all about the experience, it’s about the not so good side of love. I was in a deep place when I wrote this song, I usually need to be in a deep place to write my music.  Love Is a Game is based on my thoughts on love and how it really does things to people when things fall apart. The heartbreak, the stress, and how it changes you as a person.  There are many pros and cons to love and I’m clearly focused on the cons.  But my next song will be all about the good side, don’t worry.

How long have you been playing the piano? You’re very talented!

Thank you!  I have been playing piano for about three years. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play piano so, when I was 10 years old, my parents gave me my first keyboard. I taught myself how to play. The first song I taught myself was Diamonds by Rihanna!  Now, I attend formal classes under the royal conservatory program, and I love it! I’m improving every day! I have also been upgraded to a digital piano! ;)

We’re captivated by your voice! How have you managed to perfect your vocals over time?

I have always been singing, so some would say it is a natural gift. But even a natural gift requires practice and there is always room for improvement.  So, I must be honest, it takes a lot of commitment and practice! I practice almost every day.  At first, I was afraid to push myself, but I have had some great vocal coaches and an amazing choir director. (I am also a member of two choirs) Working with them helped me come out of my comfort zone and it became a fun and rewarding challenge to push myself to hit different notes and octaves.  With practice, my voice started to grow over time. It’s also very important to take care of your voice, so I give my voice a lot of love and care.  The voice is an amazing instrument with consistency it becomes very flexible.

Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them?

The best setting to listen to my song(s) is probably in your room with the lights out!! LOL! It’s a pretty deep song, it gets you in your feelings, it’s relatable to anyone who’s had a heartbreak. Add Love Is a Game to your “in my feelings” playlist. But don’t get stuck in your feelings, I’m going to come out with a much happier love song!  I promise!

What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward?

I absolutely want to make singing my profession. I will continue writing and singing these love songs!   I am also looking forward to diving deeper into production and engineering. I would love to collaborate with different artists and produce or write for them. The ultimate would be launching my own record label. For now, I will continue to work hard and perfect my art so I can always be ready for whatever comes next!
