A Sweet Silver Lake Bungalow By Rosa Beltran, $2.6M

It may look like it’s always been there, but this bungalow in Silver Lake is really a completely new house. A close collaboration between the developer Manning Trust, led by Ronan Isaacs, and LA designer Rosa Beltran, it’s been reinvented from the street front to the garden, transforming a wreck into a pristine, lime-washed brick cottage. Below, some before and after to get a grasp on the scope of the project.

Isaacs is no stranger to complex projects, and Beltran has a way of deftly reviving and imbuing traditional LA structures with a fresh look, mixing vintage elements and new. In addition to her design practice, Beltran is the proprietor of the Melrose Avenue shopping destination Clad Home.

In a fundamental re-scripting and expansion, the three bedrooms are now on the upper level and main living spaces have moved to the garden level, where they open to a well-considered outdoor entertaining space with a black-bottom plunge pool.

The multi-disciplinary design and creative marketing firm Design Assembly staged and styled the project, giving it that simple, serene and supremely comfortable vibe the firm is known for.

The handsome iron stair rail and beamed ceilings look back to 1920s Los Angeles and the stair landing itself incorporates a seating and bar area.

In addition to the three bedrooms, there’s a pair of office spaces.
