Ladytron have unveiled a haunting video thriller, starring Bianca Comparato, for their new single City of Angels from upcoming album Time’s Arrow which comes out on January 20th, 2023 on Cooking Vinyl.
Manuel Nogueira directed the video, which follows a thriller narrative and arrives just in time for Halloween. “Where we are from it is always Halloween,” Ladytron have often said.
As the song turns sensual imagery into a surrealistic dream, the video transforms to an exquisitely unnerving setting where a choreographed musical thriller is taking place. The video is inspired by cult favorites Roeg and Argento, and shot in architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha's brutalist mansion.
Actress Bianca Comparato, the star of the Netflix science fiction drama 3%, plays a photographer who is mesmerized and attracted in by a mysterious force.
Bianca comments: “I’m such a fan of Ladytron - I was lucky enough to be in the music video…the whole experience was a dream come true.”
City of Angels effectually introduces Time's Arrow in their trademark synthpop, electropop sound and style, and is a prime example of Ladytron's artistic expression.
