"Over half of the property was showing a balance... and a very high balance," says Veronica Beamon who is the property manager of Carpenter Estates.

On October 22nd, Kissman Investments became the new property owners of Carpenter Estates of Cleveland.

Mangers say when they took control, records showed that over half of the residents were behind on rent. That's when authorities started sending out eviction letters.

"After that, we started to get a lot of phone calls," Beamon says.

Starting as early as 6 a.m., an influx of families started to reach out to 'Boss Lady' Pam Chatman for a helping hand.

"I was so emotional about it because I didn't know how this was going to go, but I'm so grateful that we were able to sit down at the table," Pam Chatman says.

"It's so important to sit down at the table and come to an agreement of how different organizations can work together to help families across the Mississippi Delta," she added.
