Help Lizzie transition

I'm Alexandra, and I've set this fundraiser up with my mother in law, Linda. We're looking to raise funds for my wonderful wife, Lizzie, in her transition journey.

It's been over a year and a half since Lizzie was referred to the gender clinic, and as of today, they're quoting a 41 month waiting list. That's just for the initial appointment, too. Currently, she has access to HRT through a private provider, but other interventions like surgeries, vocal therapy, etc are at the mercy of the aforementioned waiting list.

I can't do justice to how incredible Lizzie is. She's my carer (I have a number of chronic health issues), and not only does she look after me, she's truly the light of my life. She's extremely funny, and makes me laugh every day. She's wicked smart, and loves to learn new things and can teach others things without ever seeming condescending. Her incredibly strong sense of justice is matched only by her deeply held care for others. I can honestly say she'd put herself out for just about anyone in her life.

She deserves the world.

Dysphoria is causing her incredible pain - her mental health is really suffering - and the wait for NHS assistance seems endless. I can't fix the waiting times, and I don't have the cash myself to make it right. What I do have is determination and stubbornness. So, that's the plan. Try to get as much attention for this from the kinder corners of the internet as possible, and support Lizzie to live happily, as herself.

I know the hopeful goal is high, but surgery is expensive. If in the time we're fundraising, some pressure is taken off by the NHS, we'll use the funds for services the NHS won't provide, and should we be fortunate to have any left over, we'll pay it forward to either trans orgs or other trans fundraisers <3
