Single undocumented mom needs hernia surgery

Hi everyone! My name is Sasha and I run the Instagram page @holisticmutualaid. I am raising money for my friend who I met through there. It is very important that she remain anonymous and that is why you will not see any pictures of her. Let's call her "Anna".

Anna is a single undocumented mother who has had a very hard time finding work during the pandemic because she does not have papers. I have ben helping raise money for her so she can pay her rent, and thanks to the generosity of the community, she has been able to stay housed.

But recently, she was having pain, went to the doctor, and found out that she needs to have an operation on her hernia. This operation will cost $11,500, and she does not have health insurance, savings, or stable work right now.

The doctors told her they will perform the operation in a few months and if she can come up with half of the money by then, they will do the surgery (and she will then have to pay off the rest afterwards).

Anna's health is at stake and her situation is very difficult because of her undocumented status.
