Jack’s Marathon in a Month!

The reason I have been inspired to run 105 laps of our school 400m track is that recently, during assembly, I learnt all about Bryn Trek. This is a 10km charity walk completed by our whole school community (staff and pupils) around the surrounding area - over the Hafod towards the reservoir and back. It was during that assembly I thought that I could do a run for charity myself!

I initially discussed the idea with my friend. Enthusiastically, we then approached Miss Jay to asked if we could complete 100 laps in a day! She called me a mad man due to the distance. After a few conversations, we then came to a mutual agreement to complete a 105 laps over the month of February. I will run 5 laps every lunch time and anyone in school can join me by jogging or walking. You can complete as much or as little as you like. I’ve decided to run 105 laps to complete a full marathon 26.2 miles.

The reason I have chosen Hospice of the Valley as my charity, is that they are very close to my family’s heart. They have helped us over the years and provided our family with great care and support. I am hoping to raise enough money to provide 50 hours of Hospice of the Valley’s Home Care to those who need it.
