Dion's Dreamers

Earlier this week, Dion was honored as keynote speaker at Catholic Charities of Buffalo's Youth Empowerment Seminar! The seminar was designed for young men and women not currently enrolled in school. Dion spoke to the group, offering advice and motivation, and held a Q&A to answer any of their questions. One young man who attended said he felt motivated after the visit, saying "Every kid could be Dion Dawkins today and every kid understood that and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who is motivated to do that."

A very special THANK YOU to the Buffalo Bills Foundation and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield for awarding a grant to The Resource Council of WNY to purchase an AED (automated external defibrillator) for our beloved center. The RCWNY is bustling with activities for youth, adults and seniors, 6 days a week! The addition of this life-saving device can make all the difference when it's accessible during a sudden cardiac arrest. It also strengthens our community's resilience in the face of a medical emergency and for that, we are so thankful and appreciative. This is Community!

Dion’s Dreamers recently made a $10,000 donation to FeedMore WNY’s School Food Pantry Program. Half was earmarked to fund East Community High School’s food pantry for the remainder of the year. The other half will be put toward the general needs of the food pantry program. Last Tuesday, Dion Dawkins had the opportunity to visit East Community’s students and faculty. He also met with the directors of the school food pantry program and took a tour.

School is here! 🎒🚌📚 We had the opportunity to help out with two back-to-school events this year in East Buffalo. ❄️ Over 2,700 backpacks were handed out at the 4th Annual Johnnie B. Wiley Backpack Giveaway in collaboration with the POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE OF BUFFALO INC. ❄️ Backpacks, free haircuts, and activities for families at Northland Workforce Training Center's last Food Truck Thursday of the season. Wishing all students plus their parents and guardians a happy and healthy school year!
