Co-founders Gemma Creamer, Lucy Barnes and Kate Aubrey-Johnson have set the organisation up to break down the barriers and end the stigma in order to empower care-experienced people to believe in themselves in the legal professions. My second baby Lawyers Who Care HAS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED! Lawyers Who Care is the UK’s FIRST organisation to provide long-term mentoring (2+years) and paid work experience opportunities for care-experienced backgrounds. We also train our mentors in Care Aware and Trauma-Informed training. Because Care Leavers can be lawyers too 🥳 Honestly over the moon at the turnout of last night’s launch event at Garden Court Chambers. As Co-Founder and Director of LWC, I couldn’t be more proud to create opportunities for care-experienced aspiring lawyers that I didn’t have. We had an inspiring mix of guests both lawyers and care-experienced people. It was an honour to stand beside the incredible Kate Aubrey-Johnson as Co-Founder and our Chief Operations Officer Gemma Creamer who is exactly what I mean by care-experienced excellence. We’ve already set the tone of what inclusive legal networking could look like for care-experienced people with Ric Diaghe performing 🔥 incredible to see my fellow care-experienced professionals Luke Rodgers BEM The Care Leaders Judith AM Denton LLB (Hons), CeMAP, Cert CII Smash Life Matt Smith, Sophia Alexandra Hall Chris Wild from our wonderful community.
