The final health care champion we are highlighting this #NationalHospitalWeek is Enrique Abreu, a peer specialist in IP Therapies at the UF Health Psychiatric Hospital. We have had so much fun celebrating our amazing health care champions this week! One of those amazing champions is food and nutrition specialist Hailey Coats. "I am proud to be a UF Health champion because good nutrition is the key to good health. I put my heart and soul into the meals that are served to our guests and hospital affiliates. Good health care begins with a team approach, and my primary goal is to ensure food safety as well as quality nutrition. Some call her "the glue that holds us together at ElderCare." Meet our next health care champion, Becky Montgomery, an office specialist at ElderCare. "I am proud to be a UF Health champion because it shows that I honor and respect the job I do here. Each work day, I make the conscious effort to treat everyone I encounter with kindness and respect. We have hospitals that are full of patients, but how do those patients get where they need to go? Meet Jeffery Lynch, a patient transport attendant, who makes that happen! "I am proud to be a UF Health champion because, when a patient is sick or hurting, I know that I am doing everything I can to help them get the care they need. While transporting patients throughout the hospital, I get the opportunity to talk to them and hopefully help to make their day a little brighter. I treat every patient as if they were one of my family members, with the hopes of getting them the care they need, in a timely manner." #UFHealthNHW #NationalHospitalWeek

Cynthia "Cindy" Schendel puts the "c" in champion!  Her role as an administrative associate for Publication Services and Strategic Sourcing plays a huge role behind the scenes here at UF Health. "I am proud to be a UF Health champion because of my commitment to the service of others. My family has a rich history of service — from my grandfather, father and husband serving in the military to my grandmother being a nurse, my mother in payroll, myself in Patient Financial Services for 30+ years and recently in Strategic Sourcing and Publication Services for more than eight years all here at UF Health Shands. Now, my husband and son work in Supply Chain Services and my daughter in Outpatient Pharmacy.
