Small businesses need our support right now. Here are a few we’re shopping this holiday season.

10 Small Businesses to Support This Holiday Season

With a new wave of Coronavirus-related shutdowns hitting the U.S. many small businesses are being forced to permanently shut their doors. So if you’re gifting this year, consider buying from a small business.

Here Are Just Some of Our Favorites!

PRMRY Olive Oil

PRMRY is a female-owned, SF-based EVOO company. They source their olives from a single estate in Northern California’s Capay Valley, a region between Napa Valley and Sacramento. The olives are grown using organic methods, picked in early November, and then swiftly taken for milling and filtration. They also work directly with the farmer while the olives are still on the trees, and oversee both harvest and milling. So you know it’s good from start to finish.

LAN JAENICKE

If you’re looking for something truly luxurious to gift yourself or someone very lucky, consider Lan Jaenicke’s beautiful handcrafted pieces. These pieces––made from cashmere, silk, and linen––last a lifetime which ultimately helps to reduce the impact clothing has on the environment––something that should always be in style.

Cindy Zell’s handmade sculptures and wall art are the perfect gift for the art (or craft) lover in your life. Cindy uses mindfully-sourced materials to create her sculptures and wall decor including ceramic, wood, stone, and natural fibers so you can feel really good about supporting this local artist.

Block Shop Textiles

We’ve been big fans of Block Shop Textiles for years. The Los Angeles-based textile brand, founded by sisters Hopie and Lily Stockman, has been supporting and celebrating Indian hand-block printing traditions since 2013.

They travel twice per year to India to work with their team in researching techniques and materials, prototyping new designs, and expanding community healthcare initiatives.

Goby Design

There’s something about a beautiful, handmade leather notebook that makes you feel like you’re onto something special. Enter Goby Design: high-quality American leather notebooks crafted in Berkeley, California. They are designed to protect your favorite notebook from everyday wear and tear. They come in either pocket size or large, plus are refillable and built to last! If you’re looking for the perfect stocking stuffer, this would be it.
