Welcome to the Avant Ski Season Pass Update tracker! Season passes are now on sale for the 2024-2025 season.
Here you can find all of the details on season pass prices, resort access, insurance coverage programs and deadlines to purchase passes. Plus, once you’ve purchased your pass, we’ve partnered with Fora to help you iron out all of your other travel plans – all while unlocking exclusive perks & upgrades at no extra cost.
Bottom line: Don't wait. The earlier you buy your pass, the less you pay. Day passes at major resorts have crossed the $250/day mark. Vail Resorts will be limiting day ticket sales. Anyone thinking of skiing or riding for more than 3 days, should consider grabbing a pass for the ski season. Plus, passholder insurance programs mitigate risks, so don’t wait until you hit the mountain to buy your lift ticket!

Epic Passes for the 2024-25 season went on sale March 5.
Brought to you by Vail Resorts, the Epic Pass offers skiers a season pass to many premier ski resorts around the world. This means access to Colorado resorts like Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte, Utah’s Park City, Vermont’s Stowe and Okemo and Mt. Brighton in Michigan.
All resorts on the Epic Pass for the past season are returning for 2024-25 season. Vail is also adding Crans-Montana in Switzerland following the announced acquisition of the resort last November. Other notable resorts included on the Epic Pass are Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar in Lake Tahoe, California, Stevens Pass in Washington and Mt Sunapee in New Hampshire. Mountain lovers rejoice: Seven days at Telluride Ski Resort are on the Full Pass and the local pass even includes ten days at Whistler Blackcomb!
The standard Epic Pass will get you unlimited access with no blackout dates at 38 North American resorts while the Epic Local Pass offers unlimited access to 25 resorts and 10 days total at other Vail Resorts’ mountains. The Epic Day Pass grants skiers one to seven day options and is a great alternative for those planning a shorter vacation.
Bottom Line on Pricing: Epic pass prices are up another ~8% for next season, following an 8% increase for the 2023-24. This puts prices at their highest level yet, just ahead of the 2020-21 season after which Vail cut prices by 20%. Plus, Vail will continue to limit day ticket sales.

Buddy Passes: Lock in your Epic pass ahead of the first deadline to receive 10 Buddy Tickets to share with family and friends. *Day passes do not include buddy passes.
What's New: Minor changes to the resort portfolio; passes go mobile at WhistlerBlackcomb
Mobile Pass. Guests will continue to be able to store their passes on their mobile phones. This will eliminate ticket window lines or waiting for passes to arrive by mail.
New European Partner Resorts - Vail announced the acquisition of an 84% stake in Crans-Montana, also in Switzerland, in late December, it will be included in the 2024-25 pass, subject to the closing of the deal
No Reservations. No reservations will be required with the exception of Telluride, Colorado, a partner resort.
Pass Insurance: Vail introduced "Epic Coverage" – a covid-inspired insurance policy that offers prorated cash refunds (rather than credit towards next season's pass). This will remain for the 2024-25 season.
Epic Coverage is split into two categories: Qualifying Personal Events and Covered Resort Closures.
If a qualifying personal event (such as injury, illness, or qualifying job loss) occurs, passholders will receive a prorated refund in accordance with the number of days skied.
If any Vail Resorts experience closures during the season, passholders will receive a prorated refund based on the percentage of potential ski days lost. Passholders must choose whether they would like to cover a specific week, or the entire 'core season' (between Thanksgiving and Easter). They must also choose whether to cover a preferred resort, or all resorts.

Lots of details, but the bottom line is that if some reason you're unable to make full use of your Epic Pass (less than 7 days), you're probably covered to some degree.

Ikon Passes for the 2024-25 season went on sale March 14.
The Ikon Pass offers unlimited access—with no blackout dates—to 17 top ski resorts including Steamboat, Mammoth Mountain and Copper, and up to seven days at 40 iconic resorts including AspenSnowmass, Alta and Jackson Hole. Plus, it offers access to some lesser-talked-about gems like Arapahoe Basin in Colorado and international resorts including Niseko United in Japan, Zermatt in Switzerland and Australia’s Thredbo.
Ikon is retaining all of its partners from the 2023-24 season
Price: Ikon Pass – $1,249/$1,149 renewal
Ikon Base Pass Plus – $1,119/$1,069 renewal (includes 7 additional destinations)
Ikon Base Pass – $869/$819 renewal
Ikon Session Pass – $449 for 4 days

Renewal Discount: $100 off for renewing Ikon Pass holders, $50 off for renewing Ikon Base Pass holders. (Must purchase by April 18).
Additional Perks:
More Friends & Family Discounts. Ikon Pass holders will now get 12, up from 10, Friends & Family tickets for the 24/25 winter season. These tickets offer a minimum of 25% off the single day lift ticket price posted for a specific day
Free Summer Bike Park Day. Season passes now come with one bike park lift ticket to be used at select resorts
Crystal Mountain. Crystal Mountain is returning to unlimited access on the Ikon Pass
Discount on Blenders Eyewear & Products. Passholders will receive a one time 30% discount on Blenders Eye Wear
Discount on The North Face. Passholders will receive a 20% discount on purchases of $200 or more at thenorthface.com
Discount on Ikon Pass Travel. Passholders will receive a 100 ($130 CAD) savings toward any single 23/24 winter booking made on Ikon Pass Travel before May 3, 2024.
Base Pass Plus: For an extra $250, up from $220 last year, Ikon Pass Plus holders receive 5 day access with blackout dates to 7 additional resorts that are not on the Base Pass as follows:
Jackson Hole, Aspen, Alta, Deer Valley, Snowbasin, Taos and Sun Valley (same as last season)
Adventure Assurance: Ikon Pass will continue to offer Adventure Assurance for the 2024/25 passes. This program was introduced in 2020 in response to Covid-19. Unused passes can be rolled over to the following season any time prior to December 12, 2024.
The Session Pass: This pass offers up to 4 days in total at 39 resorts globally. Session pass holders will not receive early spring access.
2&3 Day Session Passes: Ikon Pass will continue to offer 2 and 3-day options for those looking for shorter trips. The Ikon Session Pass offers access to 40 destinations (exclusions below) with select blackout dates and benefits. Prices start at $259.
Session Pass Exclusions: Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, Alta Ski Area, Snowbird, Sun Valley, Snowbasin, Lotte Arai Resort, Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley, Dolomiti Superski, Kitzbühel, Zermatt, Thredbo.
Reservations: Select Ikon destinations will require reservations for the 2024-25 season. Deer Valley, Big Sky, Jackson Hole and others will require reservations.
Child Pass Promotion: Ikon offers great early season discounts for children. When purchased with an adult pass, save $100 on a Full Ikon pass for a child 5-12 (up to $200 in total savings) on the $369 pass. The Base Plus Pass is $449, even with the discount, - so for this age group, we would just get the Full Pass. Passes for children 0 - 4 are $149 for the Full and $99 for the Base; $349 for the Plus Pass, based on child's age at time of purchase.
Bonus Spring Access!: New pass holders will be able to ski at the following 12 resorts for the remaining spring season:
Starting April 1: Mammoth, Palisades Tahoe, Steamboat, Winter Park
Starting April 8: Steamboat, Mt Tremblant, Deer Valley
Indy Pass
Indy Passes for the 2024-25 season went on sale March 1.
The Indy Pass offers skiers access to 185+ resorts in 28 states. From China Peak in California and White Pass Ski Area in Washington to Winterplace Ski Resort in West Virginia, the Indy Pass is your ticket to North American skiing.
200 Resort Guarantee: Indy Pass has guaranteed that if the number of Indy Pass resort partners is less than 200 by November 15, 2024, passholders can request a full refund for the 2024-25 season.
Price: Indy Pass $279 adults (with blackouts) Indy+ Pass $379 (no blackouts)
Kids: starting at $189
First Pricing Deadline: Returning passholders and those on the waitlist from last season have exclusive access to purchase passes from March 1 - 8. On March 8, passes will go on sale to the public until capacity is reached.
Deadline & Waitlist: Indy pass paused sales effective April 11, 2023, last season. Passes sold at record speed and Indy Pass paused sales to preserve "the independent and uncrowded ski experience we know and love." Limited sales may resume in the Fall.
Our best advice for the upcoming season is to buy early!
What's New (2023): Indy Pass will be limiting sales going into next season. Indy pass was acquired by Entabeni Systems in March 2023. Entabeni Systems has been Indy Pass's technology partner since shortly after the inception of Indy Pass in 2019. Indy Pass founder, Doug Fish, will remain with the company indefinitely. Erik Morgensen, Founder & Managing Partner of Entabeni Systems noted "We are going to limit pass sales to preserve the independent ski experience."
Renewing Pass Partners: Indy Pass partners renew their contracts each year and a complete list will be available as soon as it is ready. Early signs suggest many resorts will return for the season and further pass partners are expected.

Pass Insurance: Indy Pass is rolling out a new Protection Plan called the Indy Pass Partner Participation Promise. Anyone who purchases a pass during the early-bird pricing period (through May 1) is eligible for this plan. Under this plan, pass holders may receive a full refund if the resorts they plan to visit are not participating in the program. Refund requests must be submitted by September 1, 2023.

The Mountain Collective Passes for the 2024-25 season went on sale March 5.
The Mountain Collective pass is a great option for skiers who want to experience it all without the burden of blackout dates. The season pass includes access to 25 different ski resorts including Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming, Aspen Snowmass in Colorado and Mt. Buller in Australia.
Price: $605
Sales Began: March 5, renewal discounts will be offered to current passholders
Access: 25 Resorts with 2 days at each, with 50% off unlimited additional days For a limited time only, pass holders will receive a bonus third day at their favorite resort.
What's New:
Mountain Collective will offer a physical pass and holders can go directly to the lifts. The physical pass will be valid at all North American partners and AspenSnowmass, Big Sky, Jackson Hole and Taos Ski Valley will require reservations.
Refund Policy: Mountain Collective partners with Ski Pass Preserver for pass insurance.
