There is plenty of food content out there. I know, of course, because I am making some of it, but also because I’m reading a lot of it, and a lot of it is vacuous, shallow, and sometimes downright incorrect. But there is also so much good thinking and good writing about food out there, and one such writer/content creator/ and chef is Amethyst Ganaway. Her bylines range from Serious Eats to Garden & Gun to Eater, and I believe she is one of a new generation of significant voices on the scene. Her scholarship and research is on point, yet because of the honest place from which she writes, it’s approachable, and not only do I love to read her writing, I love following along on Instagram for peeks inside her cooking life too.  Originally from North Charleston, S.C., she’s currently living in New Mexico, where she is writing up a storm and craving South Carolina seafood.
