about

Raised in the Bay Area, with Vietnamese-American roots, recording artist and songwriter, thuy is setting herself apart in today’s pop R&B scene. Inspired by early 2000s pop and R&B idols and Britney Spears, Brandy and Mariah Carey, thuy grew up surrounded by music and began singing at the age of 5. By age 9, thuy knew she wanted to be a pop star. With few idols to look up to who looked like her, thuy traded her musical hopes for a career in medicine. After coming across a fortuitous visit to a studio, thuy opened her eyes to what a career in music could look like and finally took the leap of faith to pursue her dreams.

Since then, the now Los Angeles-based singer has debuted two projects showcasing her celestial vocals, unrivaled songwriting, and modern R&B stylings. 'i hope u see this' arrived at a time when the excitement for her music has never been stronger and ‘girls like me don’t cry’ and won the hearts of fans worldwide. Today, her music has been streamed over 250 million times and has garnered praise from premier publications and editorials including Billboard, Rolling Stone, Paper, Nylon, Vibe, Harper’s Bazaar, Wonderland, Flaunt, and NBC. Proving her star power, the young starlet cemented her place in mainstream R&B and on the global stage with two sold out headline tours, major festival billings, and collaborations with leading brands such as McDonald’s, Zappos, Crocs, Foot Locker, and PUMA. thuy has carved out a space for herself both within and beyond the community of self-made Asian-American musical artists that have emerged in the streaming era. Having been named People Magazine's #1 Emerging Artists to Watch in 2022 and landing a spot on the industry coveted Vevo DSCVR’s Artist to Watch list for 2023, thuy continues to cement her name on the global stage.
