At first okay, but later one excited
I bought into the subscription for a Christmas gift. One part arrived at my home and initially my son didn't interact with it and felt it was too complicated. I did cancel the subscription at one point. Over the following months, he began to build with more confidence and begged me for more builds in the line. I went ahead and restarted with the subscription and eagerly look forward to another build kit for my son. He now interacts and continues to engage with the kits months later and I feel satisfied with him learning from CircuitMess!

We've gotten two kits so far. There have been minor issues like the instructions not matching the newest design or a late shipment. I'm giving them 5 stars because the Customer Service is AMAZING! Any issue that I have is handled promptly and without a lot of work on my end. When my shipment was late they sent me a bonus kit as an apology.

The kits are really fun and educational. I highly recommend this subscription box.

Bringing the world of stem into a kids world is the gift that keeps on giving. A life skill that will be used for life. CircuitMess and their project based learning is the best product I have found for younger kids.
The coding is visual and my 6 yr old niece was happily coding here projects faster then I imagined possible.

Overall we like the kits.

However find the delivery and instruction manual consistency very frustrating.

We have never had a package turn up on time and have had to chase delivery for them all.

We often find the manuals are very good at explaining things in some parts and then skip over some crutial details. For example, in one of the ones we just received, there was a quick comment about LED polarity and that was it. The board had a 4 pole connector - we tried every combination of adjacent poles, but then tried diagonally opposite terminals and it worked!

We were also surprised that some packs come with batteries and some dont, even though they all say batteries included.

It started out me searching for a quality STEM program for my son that we could both enjoy and learn. After the first box, I was so impressed that I subscribed for myself and my grandchildren! With simple, easy instructions that build upon each level, they never cease to amaze and teach us new skills. We look forward to each new box!

This is a great company with really engaging products. My son can't wait for the packages to arrive and start building. This is not your KiwiCo or Crunch Labs kits. There's more complexity and rewarding projects with electronics and programming kits from Circuit Mess. It's the kind of things I wished I had when I was a young budding engineer.

My son loves the subscription boxes. He has a lot of fun with it. Had to wait an extra month to get box #2, but company made up for it by sending some freebie items. I'm hoping they don't get extra behind on boxes #3 and #4.

The devices themselves are well designed and a great experience for the family. There hasn't been 100% great experiences on the logistics side of it. The first box took several months to get to me and there has been a rough transition from the monthly to the yearly subscription.

My son just had a blast building 8-bit (our most recent delivery) and spent several hours playing with it afterwards. He really enjoys this subscription box and I love how much he is learning!

My son has loved this stem kit. He felt so creative and accomplished when he built his own video game! Customer service at CircuitMess is top notch also. Had a delay in shipping, rectified immediately. Thank you guys!

First, most of these are not suitable for 9-12 years old. The solder joints have to super-perfect for these things to work - which are difficult even for adults. One slightly wrong joint and it won't work. Second, the electrical stuff is very fragile, you twist one register leg a bit, it breaks and your whole product won't work. Third, there is not much learning here. Your kid learn what registers, capacitors, etc. are once but after that there isn't much insight into what each of these components are doing in the item at hand.

I recently started homeschooling my daughter, and I saw the advertisements for these kits on my Facebook feed. My husband and I own an Electrical Contracting Company, and I thought this would be a great way to get her interested in electrical theory and components. The kits took a couple of weeks as they were a little backlogged. When I e-mailed about it, the company got back to me right away. They explained the situation and included a free gift in our order for the wait! My daughter loved the kits. They were fun and fairly easy to assemble for her. One of the robots did not have a battery included, but other than that, the quality was amazing and the robots worked great! She can't wait to get her next set in the mail! Thank you for this great idea!

We ordered a STEM box subscription, and it was an exciting experience for my son who is 11 years old. Assembling his smart toy from scratch was a great way to introduce him to electronics, acquire knowledge of how to use tools, and build something with your own hands.

Very impressed with this. My daughter loves the projects. The quality of the completed products is great, she completes them with minimal intervention and is so proud and happy with the result. We have made the car and games console so far, can’t wait to do the rest.
