BRANDON HILL

Brandon Hill (b. 1983, Baltimore, Md.; lives and works in Washington, D.C.) Brandon Hill draws on his fascination with materiality, history and the urban landscape to shape his multidisciplinary art practice. His work spans from 1” sculptures made from lego to murals that wrap full buildings, often using murals as public utility that can help solve urban design problems. ‍ His work is part of the permanent collection of the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. He has exhibited in galleries and painted murals across the country, most recently in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is a co-founder of both the D.C.-based arts group No Kings Collective and Please Bring Chips, a black-owned food collective.

Born as Andrew Pisacane in 1988 in New York City and raised in the Upper East Side neighborhood. His artist name is derived from the Greek designation for "earth goddess," and early in his career he used animal imagery to underscore his interest in bringing nature to urban landscapes. His street work has been documented and featured in several books on urban art, including Beyond the Street: The 100 Leading Figures in Urban Art, (Berlin, 2010) and Outdoor Gallery (New York, 2014). Gaia currently lives in Baltimore, MD.

Paradigm Gallery + Studio® was established in 2010 by co-founders and curators, Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston. The gallery exhibits meaningful, process-intense contemporary artwork by emerging and mid-career artists from around the world. In 2022, Paradigm announced the opening of its new 5-story, 7,000 sq. ft. home, The Paradigm Arts Building, in Old City, Philadelphia.
