This January in Philly: The 40+ Biggest Events, Festivals & Exhibitions

Winterfest at Penn's Landing, the Philadelphia Auto Show, Madonna in concert and more...

SHARE

With the holiday season in the rearview and the heart of winter ahead, Philadelphia doesn’t slow down in the new year.

January brings a number of special events to Philly, starting with the 124th Mummers Parade on New Year’s Day. The Philadelphia Auto Show returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center with 700 vehicles in tow.

The new year is hopping at Wells Fargo Center, as well. Madonna dances in to celebrate 40 years of hit-making, and it’s the heart of the schedule for the venue’s pro sports tenants, the Flyers, 76ers and Wings.

Favorite seasonal festivals continue into 2024, including Winter at Dilworth Park, Winter in Franklin Square and Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest. And holiday lights displays like the LuminoCity Holiday Lights Festival and Holiday Light Show at Shady Brook Farm reach their final days.

And the legacy of the civil rights leader is honored across Philadelphia during Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend (January 13-15, 2024) at institutions like The African American Museum in Philadelphia and the Museum of the American Revolution.

Extend the fun by booking the Visit Philly Overnight Package, which includes free tickets to some of Philly’s most popular museums, free hotel parking (up to $100) and a warm, cozy bed you don’t have to make. Or make yourself at home with the Visit Philly 3-Day Stay hotel package, which includes buy-two-get-one-free hotel nights at participating hotels.

Read on for the top things to do in Philadelphia in January 2024.

Note: The events in this article are arranged chronologically by default.
