I am a Frankenstein writer, I stitch together abandoned story parts with generous doses of caffeine and pure stubbornness, From my West Virginia window, I operate as a mildly agoraphobic cryptid tracker, scanning for signs of the unexplained while never actually stepping outside, Stay one careful step ahead of the asylum’s waiting list, Hypochondriac Symptom Bingo, where every new twinge or unusual sensation earns a triumphant mark on the mental card, Professional marble herding, gently coaxing the last few rebellious brain cells back into some semblance of order before they file for divorce and leave me entirely,
I am a storyteller at heart, driven by a simple desire to entertain and connect with others through the written word. My goal is to craft tales that readers can lose themselves in, stories that spark imagination, deliver chills, or simply bring a smile during a quiet evening. Writing serves as a wonderful creative outlet for me, a way to channel energy, reduce stress, and explore ideas that have lingered in my mind for years. From a young age, I have been drawn to horror and folk tales, those timeless narratives filled with mystery, suspense, and the echoes of old traditions. It brings me genuine joy to share that lifelong passion with others and to help create moments of shared enjoyment that bring people together.
I make my home in the beautiful hills of West Virginia, USA. Life here moves at its own pace, surrounded by the quiet rhythms of the Mountain State. For reasons that are not particularly dramatic, I prefer to keep some aspects of my daily life private and remain vaguely anonymous online. After all, the internet often functions as a space where we can share our thoughts without feeling the need to stand on a street corner offering unsolicited opinions to passersby. If my work or words do not quite align with your expectations, I kindly suggest adjusting those expectations downward. There is room for all of us in this creative world.
At my core, I love spinning scary stories reminiscent of the ones we used to share around campfires on cool summer nights. What some now call flash fiction is, in my view, simply that same beloved tradition of spooky storytelling dressed up in more modern attire. I also hold a deep fascination with horror films, true accounts of notorious figures, and all things macabre. While others might find this interest unusual, I have always believed that normal can be rather dull. A little darkness keeps life interesting.
I am older now, often cranky when the mood strikes, but I strive to bring humor into most situations and remain honest in all my dealings. You might describe me as a curmudgeon with an endless supply of tales to tell. Born and raised as a hillbilly with plenty of common sense instilled along the way, I like to think I have been dipped in awesomeness and dried off with a touch of incredibleness. After all, if one aims to become a national icon or world treasure, such qualities are practically required.
Take from this introduction what you will, or disregard it entirely. Either way, I will continue doing my vaguely important things from this quiet corner of West Virginia. Whether you enjoy my stories or simply stop by for a quick read, I appreciate your time.
In terms of how I see myself, here are a few titles that fit in varying degrees:
I also navigate life with several conditions that shape my experiences, including Asperger's syndrome (high-functioning autism), panic and anxiety disorder, hypochondria, ADHD, OCD, sensory sensitivity, haphephobia, depression, sensory processing disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, mild agoraphobia, aquaphobia, manic tendencies, and lilapsophobia. These aspects of who I am add layers to my perspective and often influence the stories I choose to tell.
If you have enjoyed my work and feel inclined to support it, you can buy me a cup of tea (1 sugar, no milk): sweet tea or iced tea. Every bit of kindness is deeply appreciated and helps fuel more stories in the future.
Thank you for reading, and I hope my tales bring you as much enjoyment as they bring me in the writing.
