Irene D'Antò
Italian Artist, Illustrator and 2D Animator.
Born in 1984 to two sensitive, art-minded parents, she grew up in an environment where creativity was a natural language. Passionate about cinema, music, photography and all forms of artistic expression.
From mother’s side, she inherits a strong artistic lineage with painters and poets in the family, such as Leonardo Sinisgalli, known as the poet of the two muses. From father’s side, musician, composer, pianist and orchestra conductor, she inherits a musical talent, profoundly imprinted in her DNA.
Graduated with honors from the European Institute of Design in Rome and from the Institute of Art in Anagni.
She holds diplomas in Illustration and Multimedia Animation, Master of Art, and Architectural & Furnishing Designers diploma.
She also attended courses in analog photography and darkroom, deepening her interest in storytelling, developing a refined sense of composition, graphic weight, and visual balance; foundational skills that resonate throughout her work and across her multidisciplinary artistic journey.
Reaserch and experimentation are a constant, working across a wide range of media including drawing, painting, collage, animation, scanography, photography. A strong artistic identity ties her work together, making her signature recognizable across diverse forms of artistic expression.
Welcoming mistakes as an opportunity to develop new languages, techniques, and expressive styles, she practices Art Journaling and Altered Magazines as a meditative and cathartic daily routine, moving inward, into the subconscious, healing a soul. Just as she glues paper fragments onto the page, she is also repairing fragments of herself, piecing together the big puzzle of an artist and a human being.
Taking part in various musical projects, alongside her visual explorations, the most significant being MALI MALI . In this ensemble, she performed in the choir's solo section on a concert tour that culminated in Mali, Africa. Still remembered as a the most important experience in the artist's life, a powerful journey deeply formative that carries with it the energy of intercultural and emotional exchange and a return to the essential.
Since 2023, she has been active in the NFT space, working across Ethereum, Solana, and Tezos blockchains, where she investigates new forms of distribution, ownership, and value.
Her work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, North America, and Asia in both physical and digital platforms, including public installations in Times Square and Broadway in New York. She has exhibited multiple times at major international events such as NFT.NYC and Blockchain Futurist Conference (Toronto and Florida), as well as at Solana Breakpoint and Solana Accelerate, featured in international showcases such as EXPOS3D curated by Trevor Jones in Edinburgh, the UN Summit of the Future / Art for the Future Festival, and the Empower4Her UN SDG 5 Gender Equality arts campaign. In 2026, she was selected for a billboard exhibition during Rotterdam Art Week in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Her works are included in notable digital art collections such as Cozomo de' Medici's and her scanography animations have been featured in exhibitions curated by Beeple.

Le sue opere sono state esposte in numerosi eventi e in gallerie digitali e fisiche a Lisbona, Toronto, Las Vegas, New York, Miami, Edimburgo, Tbilisi, Abu Dhabi, Rotterdam, Parigi, Vienna, Berlino, Milano, Roma, Capri
e nel Metaverso

JOURNALING.
Creating and brainstorming through Artjournals & Altered Mag is a daily practice, a fundamental part of my Art reaserch to develop personal languages and style, and even more to be in touch with my feelings and my subconscious, in a kind of artistic meditation, an instinctive, cathartic act
.
As I glue fragments onto the page, I am also gluing and repairing fragments of myself.
MOLESKINE
This is my first artjournal, made in 2006, my cousin's MOLESKINE forgot at my house. I started painting and collaging on it freely creating the first pages, without rules in complete freedom. It was central the need to find something new, outside the academic lessons. Something more pop and street emerged from this experiment, showing me other sides of myself and a strong inclination of my soul
In 2019, I decided to revisit it and continue crafting new double pages in it. I consider this journal a never ending project, I'll surely continue to add pages to it in the next years
First 16 pages from 2006
ARTJOURNAL No.1
111 double pages of collage, painting, drawing, lettering on RISTOFFA recycled agenda cm 14x20 made in 2018
ARTJOURNAL No.2
60 double pages on square agenda collage, spray paint, image transfer, painting, printing, visual poetry. cm 14x14 made in 2019
ARTJOURNAL No.3
80 double pages on PaperBlanks agenda collage, drawing, spray paint, image transfer, painting, printing, visual poetry cm 9x18 made in 2023
Altered Mag No.1 / No.2 / No.3
Altered Mag project started in 2018 (ongoing)
21 double pages for each volume. Magazine volumes reworked, with fleshy pencil, acrylic paint, spray cans, collage.
This process on an existing magazine stimulate new possibilities of creation in the alteration of it, leaving just the printed parts of interest resonating with the artist feeling coming from the original mag, transforming the mag in a personal book, a diary, reflecting the most profound feelings of the artist, an echo of the subconscious.

REWORKED ADV.
The REWORKED ADV serie is an exploration of the possible relationship between advertising and art, taking images from magazines and transform them into something new and unexpected, trying to create a collection that are both visually striking and thought-provoking
I developed this technique of image transfer during my artistic research while working on a square agenda "artjournal no.2" and I've perfected it over the following years
Below, all the artworks of the collection, contact me if interested in purchasing
REWORKED ADV - Vol.1 / Vol.2 / Vol.3
Advertising images hand-transferred onto Fabriano paper (cm24x33) then reworked with spray cans.

SCANOGRAPHY.
I began exploring scanography in 2004, driven by a desire for something new, an experimental, instinctive practice that unfolded playfully between drawing sessions
We started photocopying ourselves at art university, engaging with xerography as both process and play, influenced by Andy Warhol and Bruno Munari.

In 2018 I reprise an intuition I had during the creative process of the work FEELINGS ON MOLESKINE way back in 2015, thus creating STRANO in May 2018 with an experimental technique, an early attempt to animate the scanography, the embryo of a new artistic and creative trend in my artistic path, a brilliant intuition of creating something new, difficult and challenging, carried forward years later with the creation MOVING SCAN serie.
STRANO was exhibited in the 2025 Mowna Biennial, from May 1 through September 28, 2025 at mowna.org and at Blockchain Futurist Conference, Miami in November 2025
STRANO is available on objkt for purchasing as 1/1 - 70% to the artist 30% to Mowna Gallery
In 2023 I create MOVING SCAN .
RANDOM is the first videoart of the serie minted on Ethereum Blockchain and is been my genesis piece to enter NFT world in February 2023
Developed since 2015, MOVING SCAN is where stop-motion meets scanography. It represents a visual and auditory exploration that oscillates between playful spontaneity and deep introspection; a project conceived to transform a static technique into something surprising and challenging.
I reimagine the flatbed scanner as a stage, applying acrylic paint directly onto the Epson A4 glass and composing tactile landscapes with objects found in my studio: mosaics, lipstick, confetti, rocks, can tabs, pink paper, and street posters.
By treating the scanner as a cinematic tool, I evolve the traditional self-portrait into a fluid, animated flux.
The experience is completed by "tailor-made" audio: a blend of my own voice, original recordings, and a deconstruction of found sounds, all meticulously synchronized to the movement of the images.
What begins as a simple scan is elevated into a sophisticated, multi-sensory journey where sound and vision are inextricably linked
RANDOM - ANTIDOTE - DEBRIS
In 2006 I did the scanograph serie called "scan deep inside" using CanonA4 scanner, scanning piece to piece to compose whole body in different moods and outfits, impersonating different parts of me or subpersonalities of myself. I decided to leave the edge of each scan visible enhancing the concept of pieces and of deconstructing myself see more here
An evolution of the 2006 scanography series "Scan Deep Inside. In 2023, these body fragments were reimagined and animated into a digital video that explores the intricacies of identity and self-fragmentation, exploring my "sub-personalities",a body that cannot be cataloged or controlled emphasizing the concept of deconstruction.
The piece is designed for an immersive experience, best viewed with Audio On and in Fullscreen to fully capture the sensory "scan" of the human psyche.
DECONSTRUCTING ME challenges the viewer to see the human form beyond traditional labels.Fragments of a soul, finally granted access to the world.

DESTROY TO CREATE.
Destroy something created years before is often necessary and cathartic.
Removing, etching, scraping is part of the creation of something new and more in resonance with the inside mood in the present moment.
The destroying process seems very physical act, but there is a meditative and fearless side, like in every other kind of creation acts.
Ones again we can find an axiom between art and life: destroy what is no more necessary, what is no more rappresentative of ourself to have a lighter and significant lartistic journey and life itself
