CESI stands for the Computers in Education Society of Ireland. It was founded in 1973 and has continued to adapt and move forward in a speedily changing landscape. Technology has enabled the society overcome the twin barriers to participation (distance and time) and facilitated the development of a strong community online.

Who is it for?

Anyone with an interest in the potential of technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience for all involved in education.

How does it work?

CESI maintains and active presence in a number of ways:

 CESI Mailing List

Through the CESI Mailing List the community of educators:

  • share insights, techniques, pearls of wisdom, information
  • teach one another
  • pose questions and provides answers
  • resolve problems

 Annual Conference

The conference is the highlight of the activities of CESI each year. It provides a welcome opportunity for those who have been communicating on line to have face to face time. There is a mix between presentations and workshops where practitioners have the opportunity to share with one another in a practical way. Live streaming of the keynote and capstone presentations has occurred more frequently as bandwidth has increased.

CESI Staffroom

The CESI staffroom is podcast space for teachers and educators to get together for a chat about what works and doesn't work in the classroom.
