With each sunny day, it feels like spring is getting closer and closer—but I’m still not convinced that we won’t see one final snow storm. In case we do have to hunker down, Friday Things has got you covered for your snowy streaming needs. On the list: the new Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, Crave’s newest series The Regime, CBC Gem’s newest original series Near or Far and for all of those unable to splurge on Eras Tour tickets, The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) will be streaming on Disney+ this month. Read on for the full list of what we’re recommending on Apple TV+, CBC Gem, Crave, Disney+, Hayu, Netflix Canada and Prime Video in March 2024.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (Premieres March 1)

In The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, Dick Turpin (Noel Fielding) sets out on a journey of wildly absurd escapades when he’s made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws — and tasked with outwitting corrupt lawman and self-appointed thief-taker Jonathan Wilde (Hugh Bonneville). In this irreverent retelling set in the 18th century, Turpin is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair. Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Turpin rides the highs and lows of his new endeavours, including a brush with celebrity, all whilst trying to escape the clutches of the thief-taker.

The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, Season 2 (Premieres March 8)

This season, Levy ventures even further off the beaten path, inspired to experience local practices and global escapades with friends both new and old, including preparing for Midsummer in Swedish tradition with a moose-tracking adventure, visiting his mother’s childhood homeland of Scotland for the first time, dining with a luminary and taking a bite out of French cuisine in Saint-Tropez, embracing wellness with a hay bath under German thatched roofs on the island of Sylt, voyaging on a Greek fishing expedition around Milos, learning medieval customs and harvesting grapes in Italy, and playing soccer with an iconic Spanish star in Seville, Spain.

Manhunt (Premieres March 15)

Based on the Edgar Award-winning and New York Times bestselling nonfiction book from author James L. Swanson, Manhunt is a conspiracy thriller about one of the best known but least understood crimes in history: the astonishing story of the hunt for John Wilkes Booth in the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The show stars Tobias Menzies, Anthony Boyle, Lovie Simone, Will Harrison, Brandon Flynn, Damian O’Hare, Glenn Morshower, Patton Oswalt, Matt Walsh and Hamish Linklater.

Palm Royale (Premieres March 20)

Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she endeavours to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, Palm Royale asks the same question that still baffles us today: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?” Set during the powder-keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.

Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock, Season 2 (Premieres March 29)

Jim Henson’s fun-loving and musical Fraggles — Gobo, Red, Boober, Mokey, Wembley and Uncle Travelling Matt — alongside new Fraggles and Doozers, embark on epic, hilarious adventures and explore the magic that happens when we celebrate and care for our interconnected world. Tony and Grammy Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Daveed Diggs returns for season two alongside Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein and Emmy Award winner Catherine O’Hara in guest star roles.

Trigger Point, Season 2 (Premieres March 1)

Explosives Officer Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) is the first on call when an explosion in the heart of London signals the start of a deadly terror campaign across the capital. Newly back from secondment, she returns to her role as Senior Expo for the Metropolitan Police, working alongside Danny (Eric Shango), her assistant, John (Kris Hitchen), and Hass (Nabil Elouahabi), who’s been leading the team in her absence. When an investigation is launched to track down the perpetrators of a sophisticated and deadly attack on a power station, Lana is called upon for her expertise by the Met’s Counter Terror team, putting her back in a close working relationship with her ex-partner, DCI Thom Youngblood (Mark Stanley), his new partner, DS Helen Morgan (Natalie Simpson), DI Amir Batra (Maanuv Thiara), and new boss, Commander John Francis (Julian Ovenden).

Behind Every Man (Premieres March 6)

Behind Every Man revolves around the experienced and successful head chef, Michael, who suddenly must defend his position with the arrival of a new sous-chef, Naja. She serves up new initiatives aiming to modernize the work environment, the hierarchical structure, and the state of gender equality in the restaurant. Yet, she might also be aiming for the position as head chef. Michael and Naja get entangled in a struggle for rank, titles, and power. During their struggle old and dark secrets see the light of day, challenging the future of the restaurant. Who is willing to go the extra mile for power? And is it women or men who have the upper hand in the pressure cooker of the workplace in 2024?

Juice (Premieres March 8)

Writer-performer Mawaan Rizwan (Sex Education, Two Weeks to Live) has created and stars in the new, surreal comedy series Juice about Jamma, who is on a quest for attention and has to navigate chaotic family dynamics and literally stumbles through love. The show stars Mawaan’s real-life mum as Farida, who always steals the limelight, and his real-life brother as Isaac, who is effortlessly cooler than Jamma. When Jamma finally gets validation from his boyfriend Guy (played by Russel Tovey, Looking, American Horror Story), he just can’t handle it. Jamma’s hyperactive imagination goes into overdrive and the world is transformed into a physical manifestation of his emotions in this unique, surprising and colourful comedy.

20th Century Women (Premieres March 8)

The story of a teenage boy, his mother, and two other women who help raise him among the love and freedom of Southern California of 1979. Starring Oscar nominees Annette Bening (American Beauty, The Kids Are All Right) and Greta Gerwig (Barbie, Lady Bird), and Emmy nominee Elle Fanning (Super 8, Maleficent).

Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned (Premieres March 8)

This is the definitive portrait of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel; the original influencer whose iconic designs – the little black dress, the tweed suit and Chanel No 5 perfume – remain symbols of luxury, style, sexuality and power in the 21st century. She gave women freedom and, in a male-dominated world, they rewarded her with adoration, wealth and celebrity. But Coco remained an enigma, masking her poor childhood and complex affairs including a wartime romance that led to accusations of Nazi collaboration. Weaving together the truth in Coco’s own words – voiced by Braveheart and Bond actress Sophie Marceau – the film utilises exquisite animation and unprecedented access to House of Chanel archives. As Coco explained: ‘I’m not a heroine but I have chosen the person I wanted to be.’

The Great British Baking Show, Season 14 (Premieres March 8)

The Great British Baking Show is the ultimate baking battle where passionate amateur baking fans compete to be crowned the UK's Best Amateur Baker. Over the course of 10 hour-long episodes, the series follows the trials and tribulations of the competitors, young and old, from every background and every corner of Britain, as they attempt to prove their baking prowess. Each week the bakers tackle a different baking skill, which become progressively more difficult as the competition unfolds.

Queen of the Deuce (Premieres March 13)

From the ’60s to the ’80s, Greek-born Jewish grandmother Chelly Wilson built a porn cinema empire and a reputation as a savvy operator in the Times Square vicinity known as the Deuce. With cigarette in hand, Chelly held court in her apartment above the legendary 8th Avenue Adonis theatre, summoning a lively cabal of associates—with confidantes and grandchildren nearby. Yet few in her circle knew of the risks she took to get there. Queen of the Deuce reveals Chelly’s origins as a taboo-breaking entrepreneur and traces the fraught events that lead to her departure from Europe on the eve of war, and the unconventional trajectories of her American business ventures and personal life. Road to The Junos Concert Series (Premieres March 18)

Masters of Sex, Season 3 (Premieres March 20)

Season three of the series is set in 1966 when the famed duo Masters (Michael Sheen, The Queen, Midnight in Paris) and Johnson (Lizzy Caplan, Fleishman is in Trouble, Party Down) are dealing with the glare of the national spotlight as their sex study is finally unveiled. It’s the start of the Sexual Revolution — and Masters and Johnson’s work will have a profound impact on contemporary relationships, especially their own evolving three-way “marriage” with Masters’ wife.

2024 Juno Awards (Premieres March 24)

Sleep With Me (Premieres March 27)

Harry, an overnight radio DJ who is in a wheelchair, and her crush Luna, who suffers from a sleeping condition, navigate their respective disorders and issues from past relationships as they start their romance.

Near or Far (Premieres March 29)

Can two people ever really remember things the same way? Twin sisters Sadie (Chloe Avakian, Locke & Key) and Lauren (Fanar Zak, Rabbit Hole) Mustafa believe if anyone could, it would be them. Sadie and Lauren are wildly different, yet completely connected. Nobody else understands their immigrant parents or the small town they grew up in. They’ve been best friends, having one continuous, 18-year conversation, since birth – nothing can change their connection... until something does. When Lauren moves to Montréal for university, the sisters start to hide things from one another – accidentally at first, and then on purpose. BMF, Season 3 (Premieres March 1)

BMF continues the story of brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, who fostered one of the most influential crime families in the United States, known as Black Mafia Family. In Season 3, Meech moves to Atlanta to expand the empire, while facing rival crews and crossing paths with burgeoning hip-hop legends, while Terry holds down the fort in Detroit, facing formidable rivals, old and new.

The Regime (Premieres March 3)

The darkly comedic, six-episode HBO Original limited series, The Regime starring Academy Award winner Kate Winslet, tells the story of a year within the palace of a modern European authoritarian regime as it unravels. After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Winslet) becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable and turns to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant. As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor grows, Elena’s attempts to expand her power eventually result in the palace and the country fracturing around her.

Dark Side of the Ring, Season 5 (Premieres March 5)

Produced in partnership with VICE Studios, the series continues to lift the veil on the most controversial stories in the world of wrestling, giving viewers unprecedented access to wrestling insiders and revealing the brutal truths and often tragic consequences of lives in the squared circle.

Wonka (Premieres March 8)

From Paul King (Paddington), David Heyman (Harry Potter, Barbie), Alexandra Derbyshire (Paddington), and Luke Kelly (Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical), Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonka is an intoxicating mix of magic and music, mayhem and emotion, all told with fabulous heart and humour. Starring Timothée Chalamet in the title role, this irresistibly vivid and inventive big screen spectacle introduces audiences to a young Willy Wonka, as he becomes the world’s greatest inventor, magician, and chocolate-maker.

The Girls on the Bus (Premieres March 14)

The Girls on the Bus is a comedic, character-driven drama that chronicles four female journalists who follow every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, while finding friendship, love, and scandal along the way. The series centres on Sadie McCarthy (played by Melissa Benoist), a journalist who romanticizes Tim Crouse’s Boys on the Bus book and who scrapped her whole life for her own shot at covering a presidential campaign for the paper of record. Sadie hits the trail and eventually bonds with three female competitors: Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town: the battle for the White House.

The Dessert Presents: St. Bulges Day (Premieres March 17)

The Dessert Presents: St. Bulges Day is a 30-minute companion special to the Crave Original series The Dessert starring Shane Cunningham, Isabella Campbell, and Jillian Smart. Set on St. Patrick’s Day in Bulges, a not-so-family-friendly, all-male neighbourhood restaurant, a hotshot server begins to wonder if there is more to life than just wearing booty shorts, and a crop top for minimum wage plus tips.

The Trades (Premieres March 22)

From Trailer Park Boys Inc. and Kontent House Productions Inc., the eight-part Crave Original comedy series is a love letter to skilled-trade workers, written with grit, humour, and heart. Set in a blue-collar community where the high stress of working in a refinery is balanced by the comedic high-wire antics of its plant workers, the series centres around Todd (Robb Wells), a pipefitter, and his sister and roommate, Audrey (Anastasia Phillips, MOONSHINE), who follows in her big brother’s footsteps pursuing a career in the trades as a carpenter, just like their father Rod (Patrick McKenna, The Red Green Show).

Extraordinary, Season 2 (Premieres March 6)

Season two picks up where season one spectacularly left off, following Jen (Máiréad Tyers) on her powers journey as she enrolls as a client at the power clinic. Jen soon discovers that the process of finding her power isn’t as easy as she hoped, and things in the rest of her life aren’t smooth sailing either. Ex-cat, now-boyfriend Jizzlord (Luke Rollason) has had an unexpected revelation about his past, and Kash (Bilal Hasna) and Carrie (Sofia Oxenham) are attempting to be totally mature and dignified about their break-up, which is not easy when they’re still living under the same roof. It seems that Jen and the gang are dealing with new levels of adulting and chaos that none of them are prepared for.

Feud: Capote vs. The Swans (Premieres March 6)

The second installment in Ryan Murphy’s FEUD anthology, FX's FEUD: Capote Vs. The Swans is an eight-episode limited series based on the bestselling book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer.

The Eras Tour, Taylor’s Version (Premieres March 15)

The concert film in its entirety for the first time includes the song “cardigan” and four additional acoustic songs. The history-making, cinematic experience from 14-time GRAMMY-winning artist, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” directed by Sam Wrench, grossed more than $260 million worldwide at the global box office, making it the top selling concert film of all-time.

The Space Race (Premieres March 15)

The Space Race weaves together the stories of Black astronauts seeking to break the bonds of social injustice to reach for the stars, including Guion Bluford, Ed Dwight and Charles Bolden, among many others. In The Space Race, directors Diego Hurtado de Mendoza and Lisa Cortés profile the pioneering Black pilots, scientists and engineers who joined NASA to serve their country in space, even as their country failed to achieve equality for them back on Earth.

X-Men ‘97 (Premieres March 20)

X-Men '97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.

Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told (Premieres March 21)

Madu (Premieres March 29)

Renegade Nell (Premieres March 29)

Accused of murder, Nell Jackson finds herself forced to live on plunder and expedients with her two sisters. Helped by a brave spirit named Billy Blind, she realises that fate has not led her astray by chance as she navigates war-torn Europe.

Spermworld (Premieres March 30)

Spermworld is a road movie set inside the new wild west of baby making – online forums where sperm donors connect with hopeful parents. Against the landscape of roadside motels, abandoned shopping malls and suburban bathrooms across the country, the film follows intimate encounters between donors and recipients as they exchange more than just genetic material.

The Valley (Premieres March 19)

Top Chef, Season 21 (Premieres March 20)

Top Chef serves up new flavours this season when host Kristen Kish joins head judge Tom Colicchio and perennial judge Gail Simmons at the judges’ table as they head to the Midwest to call Wisconsin home.

Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, Season 2 (Premieres March 24)

Ten young Black professionals and entrepreneurs head to Martha’s Vineyard, an island south of Cape Cod that was one of the first beach destinations where African-Americans could vacation and purchase property. Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist who is fed up with the establishment profiting from Black entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write his own outlandish Black book--that propels him into the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.

Invincible, Season 2, Part 2 (Premieres March 14)

Based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the story revolves around 18-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age—except his father is (or was) the most powerful superhero on the planet. Still reeling from Nolan’s betrayal in Season One, Mark struggles to rebuild his life as he faces a host of new threats, all while battling his greatest fear - that he might become his father without even knowing it. 

Beacon 23 (Premieres March 15)

New sci-fi series Beacon 23 hails from the mind of Zak Penn, known for writing blockbuster motion pictures The Avengers, The Incredible Hulk and Ready Player One. Starring Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey and Canadian actor Stephen James, the series will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video March 15. In the farthest reaches of the Milky Way, a government agent and a stoic ex-military man find themselves trapped inside a beacon that serves as a lighthouse for intergalactic travellers.

Road House (Premieres March 21)

An ex-UFC fighter trying to escape his dark past and his penchant for violence, in this adrenaline-fueled actioner. Dalton is barely scraping by on the reputation that still precedes him when he is spotted by Frankie (Jessica Williams), owner of a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. She hires him to be her new bouncer in hopes of stopping a violent gang, working for crime boss Brandt (Billy Magnussen), from destroying her beloved bar. Even five to one, Brandt’s crew is no match for Dalton’s skills. But the stakes get higher with the arrival of ruthless gun-for-hire, Knox (Conor McGregor). As the brutal brawls and bloodshed escalate, the tropical Keys prove more dangerous than anything Dalton ever faced in the Octagon. Also starring Daniela Melchior, Joaquim De Almeida, Lukas Gage. Davey & Jonesie’s Locker (Premieres March 22)

The original series follows Davey and Jonesie, two lovably eccentric best friends who have always felt out of step with their peers and the banal backdrop of their high school existence. So, when they discover their locker is actually a portal to the multiverse, they’re more than ready to escape their teenage prison of mediocrity in favor of new horizons. But the joke is on them when they only end up in bizarre, alternate versions of their high school, surrounded by offbeat versions of their classmates. Fortunately, these audacious and creative besties are ready to make the most of this vacation from reality by leaving their mark on every universe they visit…even if it means choosing interdimensional chaos while they’re at it.

American Rust: Broken Justice, Season 2 (Premieres March 28)

Four months after the shoot-out in West Virginia, Del has returned to the Pittsburgh P.D. while the folks in Buell try to get their lives back on track. Del and his new work partner Angela are assigned a high-profile bombing case that proves to be quite complex. Del finds himself back in the folds of The Brotherhood and he struggles to find the balance between his life in Pittsburgh and his life/ relationship with Grace back in Buell.

Marlowe (Premieres March 29)

Set in late 1930’s Bay City, centers around a brooding, down on his luck detective; Philip Marlowe, played by Liam Neeson, who is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress (Diane Kruger), daughter of a well known movie star (Jessica Lange). The disappearance is the first twist in a series of bewildering events, and soon Marlowe is embroiled in a deadly investigation and web of lies that he’s determined to bring to light.
