Baterista, percusionista, profesor, compositor y productor, ha tocado con los músicos más importantes del jazz y del flamenco: Enrique Morente, Dave Liebman, Tete Montoliu, John Abercrombie, Wynton Marsalis, Marc Johnson, George Mraz, Wallace Roney, Niño Josele, Eliane Elias, Perico Sambeat, Esperanza Fernández, Mayte Martín o Arcángel, entre otros. Miembro fundador del trío de Chano Domínguez junto a Javier Colina, con el cual participó en la película Calle 54, dirigida por Fernando Trueba, y en la gira posterior. En 2010 graba su quinto cd con Dave Liebman, John Abercrombie y George Mraz. En 2011 dirige el Homenaje a Ramón Montoya y Fernando Vilches, con Dave Liebman y Dani de Morón. En 2014 dirige el espectáculo Flamenco meets Jazz, junto a Aaron Diehl y Dani de Morón. También colaboró con Joan Manuel Serrat durante tres años, con Ana Belén en su Lorquiana, con Martirio y con Javier Ruibal.

Ha publicado seis CD’s como líder y tiene más de 70 grabaciones como sideman. Ha tocado en algunos de los teatros más importantes del mundo: Carnegie Hall, Teatro Marinsky, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Teatro Real, Auditorio Nacional, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center. Y ha actuado en los más prestigiosos festivales de jazz y flamenco a nivel internacional.

Ejerce como maestro en las escuelas más importantes del Estado Español desde 1984: Taller de Músics de Barcelona, Taller de Músicos de Madrid, Escuela de Música Creativa, y desde 2005 en Musikene, el Conservatorio Superior de Música del País Vasco.
Como productor, destacan los trabajos Canta a Edith Piaff y Claros del alma, de Ana Salazar, y Jurepén, de Juan Cortés.

El pasado mes de noviembre presentó 'Ánfora', reciente producción junto a la cantante y compositora onubense Clara Campos, en el Café Central de Madrid dentro del Festival Internacional de Jazz 'JazzMadrid', en el que intervienen Bernardo Parrilla (flauta, saxos), Mario Pousada (guitarra, oud, saz) y Juan Masana (contrabajo), además de Clara Campos (voz) y el propio Guillermo McGill (batería, percusión).

Ánfora es música tradicional de Marruecos, de nuestra antigua Sefarad, de Grecia (género rebétiko), más una pequeña pincelada de fado, se reinterpretan con un carácter libre e innovador, contando con instrumentos tradicionales de cuerda como el laúd, el saz o la mandola, pero también dando cabida a otros más contemporáneos como el piano, el contrabajo, la batería, el saxo soprano o la flauta travesera, creando así un lenguaje lleno de códigos y sonoridades muy diferentes a las habitualmente escuchadas en estos géneros. Ánfora se presenta como un proyecto lleno de riqueza, originalidad y entusiasmo, donde predomina la emoción y la versatilidad.

Ánfora is traditional music from Morocco, from our ancient Sepharad, from Greece (rebétiko genre), plus a small touch of fado, reinterpreted with a free and innovative character, with traditional string instruments such as the lute, the saz or the mandola , but also making room for other more contemporary ones such as the piano, the double bass, the drums, the soprano sax or the transverse flute, thus creating a language full of codes and sounds very different from those usually heard in these genres. Ánfora is presented as a project full of richness, originality and enthusiasm, where emotion and versatility predominate.
