Almost brought together by chance at the foot of Mount Etna, with the dark atmospheres of Mogwai still running through their veins. Few words, an understanding born in noise. Together, they dig sonic shelters amid the volcano’s thunder, caught between frenzy and reverberation, where the fury of Nirvana twists into the distorted visions of Verdena, while the physical impact of Metz tears through the ritual chaos of Shellac. Disillusionment and catharsis, ruin and resistance.

KŌHEI is a trio that builds a raw, dissonant sound. Their music blends alt-rock roots with a contemporary approach, striking a balance between tension and emotional impact. Their influences range from VERDENA to METZ, with DITZ and SHELLAC along the way. The result is a compact, visceral sound that finds its true ground on stage.

Their lyrics explore the darker side of modernity and the relationship between technology, power, and identity: algorithmic manipulation, extractive capitalism, colonialism, consumer culture, and the ways these mechanisms strip individuals of their freedom. There is no partisan message here, but an invitation to reclaim critical thinking, autonomy, and responsibility in the face of everything that reduces people to resources.
